what about tornadoes...The highest categorized tornadoes level f-5's. The wind can reach to speeds which exceed 250 mph's. Typically tornaodes form around rural areas when there is a great big thunderstorm. The open area provides the tornado to develop when the wind sheers are passing each other during a thunderstorm, but dont be fooled, tornadoes have been known to touch down in cities as well, but not as frequent. When there is a tornado forming, usually there will be a sense of stillness throughout the atmosphere, as well as a change in sky color. Usually the color of the sky turn into this green, bluish, or even yellowish tent. Before there is even a tornado, the meteorologist will usually post a tornado watch, meaning that the conditions of a storm, or even the atmosphere are perfect for that of a tornado to form. When a tornado warning is issued, it means that there has been a spotted tornado by the local meteorology team. Around some of the southern states its classified as tornado alley because the area is perfect for winds to conflict with each other. And in this area, tornadoes touchdown more frequently, and more often, especially around may through july.
