They are bruises, and they hurt, and I don't see why people would want them or why they are given. Am I missing something?

it's a animalistic way to mark your territory. some people give them to say "you're mine" some people like to get them to say "i'm taken"

Some people get them just to show that they are taken by someone and they think it makes them look important....when in actuality it makes them look like a cheap whore.

there is no point. if people around you are giving them on purpose, then they are trashy. hickies are meant to be accidental. not intentional.

it's kindof a marking thing... it says "you're taken". Some people like it when other people know that they are taken. ::shrugs:: beyond that, I don't really know.
