I think you may be instructed to skip your placebo/week off and continue right into a new pack. Since you are not responsible taking your pills, I suggest you talk to your doctor about using another form of hormonal contraceptives like the Nuva Ring, the patch or even the shot. You may also want to look into get an IUD.

If there is a long enough timespan between times when you took one, it is possible that for some of that time they would not be having their effect. And in fact, even when you ARE using pills, there is still a small chance that you will get pregnant anyway, however it is too small to be concerned about.

Yes. You need to take the pill at the same time every day for it to work, otherwise you might as well just toss them in the trash.
