I am trying to bake with a toaster oven that heats to about 475F and then uses a timer. What I want to bake specifies 375F for 10 minutes. How long to bake at 475F ?

I'm just guessing but if you increase your heat by 100 degrees that represents about a 27% increase Logically you would decrease your cooking time by the same amount or 7 minutes and 18 seconds.
I really hope that your cooking a pizza or something thin because anything with a lot of mass will burn before it actually cooks.

it doesn't really work out. the degree difference, despite the time, changes everything. when you have such a difference in heat, time doesn't matter as much. sticking a chicken on the sun for a milisecond compared to baking it at 350 degrees several hours for example, isn't comparable, despite tinkering with the time heat ratio, because the heat difference is so great. so because of the heat difference, there is no solution without massive burning or undercooking

That's a 100 degree difference! I would not recommend it. Can't you set the toaster to 375? If you try it at 475 I would not leave it unattended and keep the fire extinguisher handy!

you are doing it backwards
since the element is so close to the food you should cook it at 350 for 13 mionutes, not crank it all the way up for less time, it will burn

you dont change the degree just because its in a toaster oven, keep it the same, the time too. DUH!
