Could a mole become infected by having a tattoo placed over it? Would it become cancerous?

It is dangerous to have a tattoo go over a mole because a tattoo is put on by a needle that has ink in it. The reason fro it being dangerous is because the mole might be cancer and if the needle gets on it it might make it spread. The toxins in the ink might also get in the mole causing it to get infected.

If you have a tattoo placed over a mole it means you may not be able to tell if it changes in size or shape or colour in the future, which are all potential signs that it MAY be becoming cancerous. This is the main reason I would be wary of doing so. I dont know if having the tattoo itself would cause this, but it is a possibility I suppose.

It is very dangerous to have a tattoo over a mole and no safe tattooist would consider doing one. Its not the infection you need to worry about so much as the fact that you wouldn't be able to see any changes to the mole and therefore if you were to be susceptible to cancer you wouldn't notice any early warning sign

This wouldnt be a wise thing to do,and if at the end of the day the mole does become cancerous and has to be removed it would make the tattoo look extremely odd!

yes, consult a doctor first. many times some moles if picked or opened can be cancerous. it probably is not a good idea to have a rapidly pulsating needle puncturing it.
