Who cares? Being independent and self-reliant is a lot more rewarding than being someone's girlfriend. If you're even thinking about changing your independence just to get a date, STOP NOW.

I think this is a problem shared by men all over the world--very universal.

Most guys are intimidated by confident, out spoken and independent gals because this kind of girls tend to do things their own ways. They can take care of themselves and that is the best quality to me (well..I am a girl so....) But guys' ego is so high. They feel that they are required to be the one who 'controls' things, take care of the girl and so on. At the same time, you have gotta admit, some girls like that mentality. Some girls like to be protected and taken care of. Unfortunately, independent girls seem to be minorities compared to those who aren't. So I suspect most guys expect girls to be certain ways...(dependent) so when it doesn't get that way, they feel that they are losing control. Some feel even weaker. So when they can't keep up with it, they let it go.

I think you are good. Don't even want to change that. If a guy can't respect that, he is not worth it.

When you're out on a date the idea is to get to know each other.I had this same problem .The thing is if you are independent you don't have to tell him every 5min a real man can tell whether he has a real women or not.The first thing that will come out of their mouth is "I 'm independent and can do for me i don't need no man to take care of me i don't ask a man for his money cause i have my own". When you say that you intimidate a guy and you're not allowing him to get to know you and you're just snapping off at him. It's OK to relax on the first date laugh smile joke around. If you looking for a good man you are going to scare him away. He'll know your real by the way you carry yourself and the things you say.You don't have to prove yourself to him he will see who you are and how you are in due time.

I respect the women who threw herself in front of horses at a race in england for the feminist movement and the ones who starved themselves and had an iron tube stuck down there throats that were force feed in prison for the cause. But don't you think you gals caring things beyond the scope. You fought the supreme court after the citadel incident to join the armed forces and now you don't like the treatment when men get a drill sergeant up there *** just as bad as you do.

I'm a man and my view is that a woman should be independent, skillful and capable, and as long as she's not a feminist it's the best thing she can do.

I think that feminists have turned a lot of men off and this could be a factor.

guys want to be mr. fix it. So if you never have a problem that they can help you with, some guys might get bored and think that they are not good enough for you. Then again there are guys that love a girl that can handle things on their own. You just have to find the right one. Try asking guys for help

Because independence is not seen as feminine ...
Feminine is more submissive...
Men don't want to date other men...
Men want to date girls....
Just try & pretend to be more girly & feminine & submissive
until they get to know you better and can appreciate that you
really are a girl and they need not worry about your independant nature...
