So many people out there believe in God, but is it belief? I belive im sitting at a desk and i belive im typing on a computer because i see and feel that experience. Thats belief, so how can someone be able to believe in something they cant, see, hear, feel. God gave us our senses so we could understand and believe our enviroment, but did he give us a sixth sence to believe in him? I dont have it but Id like to. I see alot of things in the world that I find hard to believe god would allow to happen. the usual awnser is that the devil is the cause of the bad stuff but i was brought up to believe that god was all powerful and the devil was just a fallen angel anyhow. I dont see why some people are so blessed and others are so cursed, if there is a god why make innocent childeren starve or let others be abused? Those who are convinced that god is real and good please then awnser me how you know this other than just convincing yourself. Did he awnser your prayers and if so how?

Understand the definition and true purport of prayer and all your prayers henceforth would be heard by god almighty.

Before praying we need to understand the meaning of the word Prayer. What does praying mean in every Religion... are Prayers different for different Religions. Is that for one a Prayer has one meaning and different for the other?

Praying to God, the Almighty Creator carries equal meaning for all. God never differentiates! In praying we ask of God for something. Even if we do not seek material benefits for self we may ask for the welfare of others. We may not ask God something for us but for the benefit of others. Still, it is necessary that our Prayers get answered in order to help one.

No one knows where lives God. None has ever seen him. Even the representative of Jesus Christ on Mother Earth... the reverend John Pope Paul can also not vouch having seen God at any stage of life. Nor can any bishop or father or a priest! God is always hidden from Mankind... he cannot be seen but always felt! He exists everywhere. In the eyes of God all are equal... he never differentiates between a king and a commoner.

How is it that one is a king and the other a laborer? It is only our thinking which makes one a king or a laborer. and while saying our Prayers it is only our thinking that affects the results of our Prayers. If we merely wish anything most likely our Prayers shall remain unanswered. We need to perform our Karma ((the sum total of all deeds performed by us) in daily life in a way that our wishes get fulfilled. Only when we perform the right Karma and also pray to God in right earnestness... they get answered!

It is not something God has bestowed upon us... we have rightly earned it by performing the right pious Karma. Most people in their Prayers wish for something that does not correspond to their Karma. We cannot expect mangoes to grow on a guava tree! What we get resultant of our Prayers will be in full conformity to our actions performed.

In Prayers we simply ask God for something... but we must also offer God something equivalent in return. If we need money then we must commit to God for doing some charitable work for the community where we live. Only then God hears our Prayers. Prayers are never a one-way communication. God never commits to us anything that we do not deserve. We get paid according to our Karma. If we perform a sin then hoping for a miracle in Prayers is something we call wishful thinking.

I am producing a small quote from my younger daughter that shall examine the mode of praying.

My younger daughter when quite young... the sooner she returned from school and before taking her lunch gave out all the jokes she had learnt for the day! For her they were mere jokes... A means to living a life full of laughter! For me they carried a greater meaning to life!

There used to be a priest who believed in God to the utmost. He prayed and practiced everything in the name of God. His faith in the God was unwavering.

One day it so happened that the village in which he lived was deluged with heavy rains that converted into a massive flood. As the floodwaters encircled the house of the priest... he seemed least concerned. In spite of the whole village getting emptied on utmost priority... he was at complete ease!

Sooner the floodwaters began to rise and reached the top of the first story of the house. He observed that a log floated by... he could have swum to safety clinging to the log but he felt there was nothing to be worried about. All this... in spite of the fact the priest did not know swimming.

After some time when the floodwaters reached the danger mark... a boat passed by and the occupants of the boat insisted upon him to take a seat but he refused. He had unflinching faith in God and did not worry.

Finally the floodwaters reached the top of his house. If he did not make his escape right now... he would drown. and as luck would have it there came a helicopter and the pilot insisted upon him to catch the ladder thrown by him but he refused and drowned. That's what every person asks: Is He real? Should I believe in someone or something I can't see?

Seeing isn't believing. That's what faith is. That's what believers do when they trust in God. I'm a Christian, believing in someone that can't be seen.

God says in the Bible that He is glad for those who believe without seeing (just in different words, but the same exact meaning). God doesn't starve innocent children or let others be abused... He loves them all the same, but at the same time He lets us have a free will. That's why many go to Hell and others to Heaven- because He loves us and gave us our choices, our free will. He watches out for those children or the abused, by blessing them in small or even large ways. A prayer is a powerful thing, and God listens to them all.

He listens to those prayers-every single one. Some He answers, some he doesn't. Why? Because He will give us what we need, not what we want. Most of the time we don't know what we need, we just know what we want. Remember when you used to want a watch or something else really badly and you didn't get it? You didn't need that watch, you just really, really wanted it. But then, later on, you realized you felt lonely, and you found something you didn't expect to find- a relationship with Christ! It's a wonderful feeling, to know where you're going when you leave the world.

God answers my prayers each and every day. We once had to leave my dog behind in a storm, fearing that he would get hurt. But God protected him, and when I got home, he was there waiting for me.

God bless you, and good luck!!!!!!!!

You are screwed. God doesn't answer prayers from people who cannot click the "Check Spelling" link right above the space where you write your meaningless babble. Next time you have a question, try using things like punctuation and proper spelling.

I think your problem is that you are focused too much on trying to figure out who to turn to instead of taking control of your own life. Perhaps neither the devil nor god is to be blamed for bad stuff. Perhaps the people who do bad things are to be blamed for their own actions.

You spend too much time wondering about the after life and not enough worry about how you should live your life. There is no way to prove that god exists. We may all die and go to heaven and hell or we may all die and rot in the ground. The only certainty in life is that one day it will end. You only have a short time to be here, so try and accomplish something. Let your actions determine the worth of your life and the fate of your soul.

Well, first of all u dont "get" God to answer your prayers. You tell God what you want, feelings, etc and He chooses what is best for you. You may think you know what's best for your life, but God knows all the possiblilites, all the outcomes. God gave us the gift of free will. This means that we CHOOSE to believe in Him, He won't force us. think about how pointless it would be if he made us believe in him...we'd be a world of robots. This way He knows we love Him--we have chosen to follow him by our own will.

As for what God allows to happen:
There is not one simple answer for pain. He may be testing that person. You can't grow in your faith if you don't experience a point in your life where u choose to accept God's plan or reject it. Also, pain could (but isn't usually) a punishment, something that you will learn from. God is all powerful, you can see that by the creation of the world-none of this could've just plopped together and be as complex and unique as it is. But again, although God allows for pain, starvation, etc he doesn't make it. read the story of Job in the Bible.

In short, I know God is real. Remember He ALWAYS answers prayers. The answer might just be NO. I know he's real just by seeing the world and it's complexities. I know he's real because he has gotten me this far in life. I know he's real because I have experienced that overwhelming peace when I gave all my worries, doubts, and fears to God. I know he's real when he reveals things about life to me. By the way, prayer is a conversation WITH God. many people believe it is a one-sided ordeal where you ask God, thank God, etc. Which you should, but next time you pray, try and listen to what God has to say to you or what he's trying to show you.

Yes, He answers my prayers all the time, or at least every once in a while to make me develop some perseverance and faith.

How do I know this, you ask?

I don't know it, I believe it.

Why do I believe it, you ask?

Normally I don't cut and paste long Scripture quotes, but this time it is necessary:

Jesus appears before Thomas
(see John 20:24-29)

Some people had doubts that Jesus had risen from death, that he had been resurrected. After all, the Romans drove nails through Jesus' hands and feet and later pierced his side with a spear to make sure he was dead. And now there were people claiming to have seen Jesus alive again. Even the Apostle named Thomas had doubts, as explained in John 20:24-29 (NIV translation):

Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."

A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Faith is a gift.

NO, because it still hurts, he allowed it, so he's guilty so why would it matter he answers to no one, so he can do as he wishes. So god is what a devil, a tooth fiery, a star what, a god I dream of would have never let this world fail, then again he's from the middle east, split up into 3 to make 1.

That is because you are making up an idea of God- when God is who He is- and should be trusted. God is good, and we know that- He is all loving and merciful- and he is also a jealous god and has righteous anger- but it is a good anger- For He is holy and Just. So the things that happen in the world- are meant to happen of course- and God allows it- in the end it brings God glory- we do not understand a lot of things- but we should not doubt God- for Satan is the prince of the air as the Bible says. Of course God is in control and has allowed these things to happen- We do not live in a candyland world- once sin entered, through Adam and Eve- things changed and God said in the beginning there would be many sicknesses and wars- and famines and all kinds of things...because of sin. Those who trust in the Lord are always in good hands- God knows who are His sheep- and He takes care of them.

Revelation 16:5
Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: "You are just in these judgments, you who are and who were, the Holy One, because you have so judged;

Hosea 14:9
Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning? He will understand them. The ways of the LORD are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.

Proverbs 21:2
All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart.

Proverbs 16:4
The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.

Sometimes you have to use common sense. Maybee there is not a God that controls peoples lives. I beleive there is some kind of being, but I don't beleive in a God that controls our lives. If he did, why would he let bad things happen. Conviently the devil was created to explain away everything. You are asking intelligent questions that religous people will try to answer with unbeleivable answers. Look to science for some of your answers. Look within your self. Christianity has survived for so long b/c it has a scapegoat answer for everything, but the answers are never satisfying or beleivable. That is my opinon.

I am not reading all that. God works in ways that some people find unfair, but others as a good way. Like this guy i know even though his daughter died when she was born, he sees that as her never having to sin and going straight to heaven. Faith is the answer. One thing happens for another reason that you might not even think are connected, but they are.

God doesn't do all the bad things you blame it for, and you can personally ask God your questions and God will personally answer those questions totally to your satisfaction. You can do
this in honest meditative prayer and if you sincerely do it you will
experience the most mind blowing thing you could ever imagine,
that will never leave you doubting ever again.

When I was very young....I prayed really hard for a Wendy house (small toy house you can get in). I opened my eyes.....no Wendy house. (Was brought up catholic). I stewed and stewed over this for a long time and came to the conclusion it was because it was a selfish request and I vowed to myself that I would never ever be selfish again.

30 years later I end up in counselling unlearning all that stuff and now I know that we humans are the ones who can answer our prayers even without divine intervention.
