For the last time folks, there is no such thing as a teacup anything. Yorkies are yorkies- their breed standard goes up to 12 pounds so anything under 12 pounds is just a yorkie. Unscrupulous breeders use this term in order to charge more money for puppies.
A runt could grow large than the rest of the litter so a dog sold as a teacup could technically be larger than most yorkies.
That aside, when breeders tell you they are selling you a teacup, they are selling you the product of two runts bred together. Because runts are usually the most unhealthy, you can see why the whole teacup fad is a bad idea. Soooo many health problems orginiate from these so-called teacups. When you buy a teacup, you put yourself at a much higher risk of having a sick puppy which can cost THOUSANDS of dollars in vet bills.
I used to work at a pet shop where they would get these teacups in. I don't remember a single one of them not getting kennel cough and sometimes pneumonia. Two brother teacups died right before Christmas because their immune systems were so weak from being bred too small. The owner shelled out almost $3200 between the two of them treating them for their pneumonia.
In other words, if you're looking for a "cheap" dog, there is no such thing. Anything can happen at any time resulting in any amount of vet bills. But when you get a teacup, you increase those chances exponentially. It's not fair to this dog to already be bargaining. If something were to happen, it would be better in the hands of someone who would be able to handle the financia; blow.
I'm not trying to talk you out of getting a dog- I just think there may be better breeds for you out there. Try rescuing a small dog from your local shelter. They're very low cost and come up to date with every shot and medicine they need.

There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie (or any other breed for that matter). They are only undersized dogs bred smaller then the breed standard by irresponsible breeders. These dogs often have serious health issues. If you want a Yorkie look for a responsible breeder, one who cares about the health of the dogs they produce and breed to breed standard. Stay clear of the "gimic" breeders who sell pups using sales tactics lIke "teacup".

Be extremely careful where you get your teacup Yorkie. Check the breeder out thoroughly, and I would stay away from the websites out there. There is one place in Florida that specialize in "tea cup" dogs, and is now being sued by the ASPCA and others because of their practices. Cruelty, getting dogs from puppy mills, etc. I would check out Petfinders.com to see if there are any rescue agencies or shelters that may have one.
Good luck.

The best place to start is by searching online through specialty rescue groups. They have them for nearly every breed. Just do a google search for animal rescue groups with your breed desired and you should come up with a lot of answers. Good luck! It's always a wonderful thing to rescue an animal who needs your love and affection as much as you need theirs.
