i have to get a new video card but i dont know what kind of plug the tv is supposed to have... im hoping its s-video

If the TV is analog, then it has a S-Video connection.

If the TV is digital, then it will have either a S-Video, 15-pin VGA, DVI or component video connection.

Your graphics card will have 1, 2 or all 3 of the following connections: S-Video, 15-pin VGA and DVI.

You'll notice one says ViVo (video in / video out). This allows you to connect a TV (video out) or a player (video in).

Also, there are certain things you can get if you can't make a connection, such as a DIV to VGA adapter.

If you want cable television on your computer, then you need a install a TV Tuner PCI card into the back of your computer and connect the cable to it.

S-Video is the standard connector used for TV-out on video cards. Some cards come with a composite plug as well.

it should be noted that the s-video connector on video cards is sometimes a 7-pin connector rather than a 4-pin, which makes no difference because they still send s-video using the standard 4 pins.
