Because, unlike the writers of the Bible and Koran, Darwin did not just sit down one day and pull a book out of his ****. The Origin of Species was the end result of many years of dedicated study and travel. Since then, his hypotheses have been extensively fleshed out and are currently backed up by screeds of experimental evidence.

Actually Darwin himself proved it to be untrue. His complaint that no linking species have ever been found to show evolution proves it could not be. To this day with all our archeology, we still have never found fossils of linking species.

The main thing is the evidence is compiled from many areas and fields of study, not just one source.
