I am 14 years old with a 12 handicap whose been playing for only 8 months. I go to a school with an extremely competitve golf team. I am pretty small in size and can only drive the ball 225-240 yards.

I want to add distance to my game.

Has anyone tried it? How many yards did you gain? Did it improve your swing and timing? Is it a good value?

I found that it was somewhat of a good stretching aid and possible added some strength to my arms , but nothing really noticable.

You can do the same thing by swinging an old house broom plus you can get better timming with the broom.

The only way to gain strength is through an exersize program which is long term but the best way.

By the way, if you consistantly drive in the fairway at about 230 yards you should have quite an advantage over those that drive it 260 into the rought.

Frankly I dont think the momentus is a good value.

Keep hitting em straight.

It does work some but not a big deal. If you are averaging that yardage and you are down the middle of the fairway each time I say you are doing good. Usually what happens when you gain yardage is you lose accuracy then you will wish you were back at 240 yd average. Just look at Corey Pavin when he was striking the ball well. He didn't hit long but was down the middle each time. Practice is what will develop your distance and as you get older you will hit longer too. 240 for a 14 year old isn't that bad at all.

I have not tried it, but I played on a state finalist golf team for the past four years, and I have found only one method that gave me more consistent distance.

You need to start a workout regimen, specifically a leg workout. The torque that you create in the hips is the best way to generate power in your golf swing. Tiger Woods has a great hip turn, which gives him a great amount of torque as he strikes the ball.

Try to join a lifting class in school, if they offer it. That way, you gain strength, while aiding your golf game.

This really did add a consistent 20-25 yards to my game. It isn't a quick fix, but you will not regret it.
