A few months ago we got a housebroken, neutered male American Bulldog (less than one year old). At first, we kept him in the kitchen to be sure he was housetrained. We just started letting him in the living room, but now he's started to go into the kitchen to pee. Does anyone know why he's doing this and can anyone give me advice on how to train him to stop?

I bet he had one accident there and thought it was OK to pee in the kitchen from then on. You might want to start over with the housebreaking process. Clean your kitchen floor with an enzymatic cleaner designed to get the smell of animal urine out.
Crate train him (if he's not already) and let him out every two hours to pee, play with him for awhile, and put him back in the crate. It won't take long at all for him to be completely housebroken again.
Hope this helps!

It seems that he's marking his territory. You might can discourage this by cleaning the spot where he's urinating with vinegar or ammonia. This will cover up his scent. Dog's usually don't like the smell of vinegar and will leave it alone. There's also a commercial product you can buy that will discourage it.

Also, make sure you let him outside during the times he usually heads for the kitchen.

they make a spray that will ward off dogs and cats that pee in the house spray it in that area. what happens is they mark the spot with their scent and keep going back. try rewarding the dog when it goes pee outside, and let it out often. Sometimes dogs do that until they feel comfortable in there new environment

Boy that's a problem. It's the same with cat's and dogs. They find a place to pee and they go to it everytime they need to. For cats you can get some kind of surgery but it doesn't allow them to mate and that's kind of cruel. Go to a vet or some type of animal expert. Try keeping him outdoors.

Also, you can hang a bell on your door and ring it before letting him out to potty. He will learn that he needs to ring the bell before going outside, and this will alert you that he needs to pee.

Also, make sure he is not trying to assert dominance. There could be other behaviors going on that you may not associate together, which would suggest dominance issues.
