Find a word that fits the cat and then check out how to say it in other languages. I had a cat named Cheega (not sure on the spelling lol ) which means tiger in German. I think it was German, its been a long time.

Get to know the cat a bit first. Ultimately you'll be happier with a name that reflects the cat's personality rather than some momentary naming whim.

My girl Kitty's name is Rinoa "RIN-WA" deriving from Eleanor or Helen, Greek for "light", because she has a beautiful face and very funny!

My boy Kitty's name is Squall, meaning a sudden wind-speed increase, because he is shy and runs FAST like the wind out of the room when a stranger comes over! He's cute!

And yes, they are both named after the main characters, my favorite, from the RPG Final Fantasy VIII =^-^=

I never name my animals until I have them for a day or two. See what kind of personality the kitty has. When I first brought home my present kitty, she was terrified. She jumped in the fire place. (thank god it wasn't in use) and got ashes all over her. I called her Cinder!!!! Just wait it out and a name will come to you!!!

I had a woman named Mau purely because it truly is the sound she made - little did i comprehend it became the Egyption be conscious for "cat" the position they were worshipped as Gods. also had a Gizmo, a Paisley, an Abbie, and now a Shina. i respect the call Mika (pronounced meeka) for a lady cat - ability pal in Italian. yet another unusual call will be Niji (nee-gee) it really is the Ojibwe be conscious for pal.

Cats I've named recently have been;
Zelda (cuz she's such a princess)
Allecto (the Greek goddess of vengeance)
Jezabel (trust me she earned it!)
Gypsy (because of a bracelet like marking on her leg)
Cheshire (she had a mischievous look about her)
Icarus (he'd take flying leaps out of trees)
Isis (she was very regal)
Shiva (he was like a virus!)
Czar (a very kingly sort)
Tebo (just fun to say)

basically figure out their personality and find a name that suits. Heck even make one up yourself. Like Teztsu or Mogul. Have fun!

i like naming animals after mythological names. My two are Achilles and Pandora. Isis and Cleopatra, Odysseus, Zeus, Jupiter, Morpheus (god of dreams), all these are interesting. We were going to call our little boy Aslan (after Narnia) but it didn't suit him. You need to give it a day or two and try out different names till you find one that fits.

I have pets and I enjoy naming them very unique names or very obvious names. My dog is named Claudette (claw-det) and my cat's name is Billie Joe, so obvious! Some obvious names don't look like it fits your cat, but after awhile it'll fit them sooooo good! (Plus, barely anybody uses them because they think it's too obvious)
Here are some obvious names:
*Mark
*Jim
*Bob
*Joey
*Frank
*Emily
*Ashley
*Chelsea
*Kim
*Billy

Very unique names speaks for itself.:
*Gaya (Girl)
*Zeus (Boy)
*Gypsy (Girl)
*Thor (Boy)
*Claudette (Girl)
