i am not a christian, but i grew up in a christian home. i studied the bible. i even took a study course through the mail. that is probably why i follow the path that i do.
i agree that when you try to have an intelligent conversation about the bible most people who don't agree with you get angry. i have never understood that.
if you are going to try to make me believe the way you do getting angry is only going to make me all the more sure that you don't know what your talking about.
i don't easily get offended. i guess it's mainly because i don't value the opinion of people who get so aggressive.
it's sad but true fact that although i am not a christian i'm a better christian than most of the ones that i know.

Sounds more like you don't like the answers that are given to your posts.
No offence but why and how can an Atheist hold a Christian accountable by using the Bible?
If you were told you are going to hell, it shouldn't even keep your interest in the least, unless you believe it to be true then that is another category.
Christians fall down. But we get back up and learn from the fall.
At least I have.

I would be interested to know how many hundreds of Christians you have done this to and gotten this response. I'm quite sure you would not make a generalization about all people belonging to a religion that has millions of followers based on a few people. I don't doubt in fact, since you seem to be so certain that this is such an irrefutable fact, that you have shown THOUSANDS of Christians the error of their ways and gotten this response. Because I think it we both know it would be a real shame if you judged the many according to the few.

Don't trip dude he ain't done with me yet. if a christian gets pissy about being wrong or doing wrong then they still have the sin of pride with them they need to seek prayer to lose that sin and the knowledge to recognize those sins they are a christian in training. We all still carry sins.We all fall short to the glory of God. Oh and you may only go to hell if you knowingly rebuke God,turn from your evil earthly ways and seek God. hell is an eternity of BAD imagine yourself getting 3rd degree burns on your body imagine that pain FOREVER. that's hell time a billion!!

This is an excellent question.
Sin is the problem that makes people think they no longer sin or; are less of a sinner than someone else.
It is called false teaching.
They are being told lies.
We are all sinners from conception to death.
Anyone who says they do not sin or don't have sin in their life is a liar and is sinning.

christians like to pretend they are special. they want special favors from god and man. i used to work public service and you could tell -- those lovely large suv driving christians always needed special treatment. I wanted to get a t shirt that said "im so f'ing special" and give it out as a consolation prize when they were ticketed for parking in handicapped or couldn't return their dirty underwear complete with stains.
anyway -- so much for the digression -- its a warped psyche thing -- jesus hiimself taught he who is without sin cast the first stone and judge not lest you be judged. Some christians sects abide by these. Evangelicals do not. Remember Ted Haggard, head of the evangelicals who was using your grandmothers tithes to buy meth and prostitutes? Evangelicals are Jesus' chosen of course because they hate homosexuals. Even though homosexuality wasn't one of the big ten. Lying, stealing, adultry, having other gods and a few more were. Of course christians are special and have hall passes to do whatever they want because they are "born again" and you were just born once through a dirty union between your mom and dad that probably didn't involve meth and prostitutes and you are going to hell because you didn't buy ted haggard a prostitute and bag of meth. ugh i digressed again -- i need to eat. Have a good night. Remember the only good christian is a dead one.

If your religion is allowing you to sin, and be forgiven and saved. How is that the true way God wants it. Why can't you live life without sinning and be kind, respectful, honest, caring, sharing everyday without running to the church to cleanse your sole from sins that you have done? Haven't quite figured this all out yet. Does God accept and forgive people just cause the church says its okay, we will forgive you, its okay to be rude, selfish and not caring of others personal beliefs? I will pray on Sunday for you? Not quite sure how this is all accepted. Just some thoughts for you.

I'm not a Christian but I've read the Bible many times. It has impossible standards and conflicting information, so no one can precisely follow it all. I don't however, attack anyones beliefs. If someone has some standards to live by and some comfort through hard times, who are we to say it is wrong?

Lookn, (above poster) you used to be nice. What happened to you? Yes, I try to be unbiased. As I hope do you. Or are christians the only ones who attempt to be "unbiased"? You have a corner on that do you?
I think it's like any of us when we get "caught" being hypocrtical. I think Christians get especially irritated because we don't have a "right" to use "their" book. I have been told "But you don't believe in the bible, so you can't use it." But if I'm holding someone to the standard THEY claim to uphold, that would make it THE most appropriate thing to use!
It's pretty silly.

Your question makes me wonder if perhaps I am non-Christian, even though I believe in God as the Creator of All. Thank you for planting this seed of thought.
Peace :)
