I dont know who is saying they are being persecuted and being mad about it- I know many will be persecuted ( not put to death, but by words) And I dont get offended because I know this is going to happen- Jesus tells us that the world will hate us because it hated Him- therefore I have never once questioned "why do others hate it when I share the truth of God?" I am not surprised when people get mad- I expect it. But I also know that God is working in many lives too- and that is the best part. I am reminded of 1 Peter 4:13 "Rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed"
-Many "new" christians may be offended because it is like sending a sheep out into a pack of wolves...so maybe that is why you see a lot of questions like that. A new christian may feel discouraged at first when sharing the gospel and seeing ugly responses....but hopefully they know this is bound to happen- and to keep their faith strong in the Lord!
-Oh and I am SO thankful we can have christianity in this country! Praise God for that!

How Britain is turning Christianity into a crime
How long will it be before Christianity becomes illegal in Britain? This is no longer the utterly absurd and offensive question that on first blush it would appear to be.
An evangelical Christian campaigner, Stephen Green was arrested and charged last weekend with using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
So what was this behaviour? Merely trying peacefully to hand out leaflets at a gay rally in Cardiff.
So what was printed on those leaflets that was so threatening, abusive or insulting that it attracted the full force of the law?
Why, none other than the majestic words of the 1611 King James Bible.
The problem was that they were those bits of the Bible which forbid homo uality. The leaflets also urged homo uals to "turn from your sins and you will be saved".
But to the secular priests of the human rights culture, the only sin is to say that homo uality is a sin.
Admittedly, Mr Green is not everyone's cup of tea; other Christians regard him as extreme. But our society is now so upside-down that, by doing nothing more than upholding a fundamental tenet of Christianity, he was treated like a criminal.
And yet at the same time, the police are still studiously refusing to act against Islamic zealots abusing British freedom to preach hatred and incitement against the West.

This is going to sound ruder than its meant...
The bible makes a few claims that followers would be persecuted in the future. It was kind of a fail-safe device, to prevent what had happened to all of the religions that fell before it. Many seem to put stock in the fact that this is what is happening.
My personal take on this is simple: It seems more a conceit of the faith to claim persecution. Crying out against abortion as murder, while bombing clinics; demanding religious freedom, while demanding (and in some cases voting on) creationism being taught in school; claiming that the word "God" is representative to all faiths in the pledge of allegiance...the list goes on. Simply put, they've had their way as the majority for how many centuries. Now that their control is slipping (in favor of common sense and respect for ALL religions) there tends to be the cry of "persecution".

please take the time to have a look at the above link and to understand the intense persecution that is happening worldwide against the church.
There are many countries where it is illegal to own a bible or the practice christianity and where peoples lives are endangered everyday because they choose to have faith in Christ. Jesus himself was persecuted and the church must expect the world to treat them in a similar way.

Persecution of any peoples is evil. God does not create evil things, all things He creates are good. I have therefore concluded that Satan is producing the anti-Christian-ism that is obviously present within this forum and other places. As John said, its not going to be easy. In fact, that hardest part is dealing with all of this hate and keeping cool. Satan is testing us, and we must keep strong. So we must pray for ourselves and others so that we can continue or mission and do God's will.

I hear ya - Im pretty sick of the whining myself..... They go around jamming their beleifs in everyones faces, then complain when someone tells them to take a hike... "Im being persecuted!" WAAAA babies....
Todays Christians experience as much persecution as todays blacks experience slavery. Must be cultural - because many blacks still harbor hate towards whites for slavery (even though they dont realize that their own people forced them into slavery, kidnapping and selling them to whites...)

Calling a Christmas tree, a "Holiday Tree" is not seperation of church and state. It's called pandering to minorities.
