Filly is a young female horse.
Male horses are classified as horses at age 5, and Female horses are classified as mares at age 5.

These are what you would call a baby horse, or a foal.

A colt is a YOUNG male and a filly is a YOUNG female, both are usually 4 and under.However a mare is a female over 4 and a stallion is a male over 4!!!!!!
A foal plain and simple is any baby in general!!!
