Hi,
i am with you guys because i really don't understand why these people is beating on these kids. Last time i checked, these kids did not ask to be here. Think about it, they should not have to grow up, thinking that everything is there, as soon as people realize that the better off they will be. i just don't understand. Yes you are suppose to discipline them but when it comes to just beatingg them for no or little reason at all that makes no since which soever. I think beatin your kids is a crime that why i do not blame people that tell on the persons that is participating in this deadly crime. THIS NEED TO STOP

1.) There is less of a stigma about reporting and admitting child abuse, and there has been more awareness that child abuse is a problem and needs to be reported to the proper authorities. I would say that child abuse isn't necessarily more prevalent, but better reported now.
2.) Secondly, thanks to modern media and the internet, stories of child abuse spread and are much more accessible to people. 50 years ago, a person might read the local newspaper, watch the local news, and maybe hear some news on the radio. Since there were a limited number of outlets, they focused on a few stories. Now, we've got dozens of specialized news channels, thousands of news websites, and stories get passed around via e-mail. What would have never been known outside a locality is now known by 10 year olds in Singapore and grandmothers in Berlin within days.

Yes, me too! Socail services in my area looks the other way. I know someone whose dad is a meth addict and whomps him. I've reported him several times and nothing's ever happened. Once they get away with it it is the most dangerous time. I have suffered emotional abuse at the hand of my father, and it's something no person should have to live through, let alone a child who can't defend himself! My friend thought it was normal!

Social Services is a JOKE. Do you know that when someone is reported to them for mistreating a kid, that the social worker calls them and schedules an appt. A friend of mine who works in the social services office told me this. She also said the reason they do this is to try to give the parents a chance to straighten their act up because they know they are coming out.
Another thing is parents are so busy working and trying to have all the lastest things and going in deep debt that they neglect their kids. Becuzz of this, kids are alot less caring and respectful of others.
And it's mostly because their parents. And have you noticed that everyone just seems to think about sex? Cheating, molesting
and porn everywhere. Pull up info to search for sex offenders in your own area. Within 20 miles of me now there are over a 100 sex offenders. It's scary....

Bit of a truism, isn't it? Any child abuse is by definition "too much". But, parents have been abusing their children for millenia, and things are far better now than they have been in the past. Child labor laws, social services, effective adoption, all things that were inconcievable 150+ years ago.

your right some people where never meant to have children, a child should never be hit and if raised in a caring environment never need to be and the way some people talk to their children it is pathetic and uncalled for, the police wonder why our children are the way they are now and i know if i was treated this way by my parents i would have no respect for and hate the world to
to everyone who does this
sit back don't raise your hand talk to and hold your children tell them you care and show them a better way

in my opinion any child abuse is tooooooooo much. i think it is happening so much now because you have unresposible people having children who still have the mind of a child and i am not blaming all these things on teens.

who microwaved their kid?
that is too horrible. i believe in what goes around comes around. one day i know those people will get what they deserve.
my cousin is a social worker. the problem is there is too little social workers and they are overworked and underpaid. there is little or no police protection for the social workers so that they may do their jobs properly.
