It depends on how large the meeting is. If there are only a few people present, simply excuse yourself, leave the room and come back when you're done. If it's a large meeting, simply leave quietly, and return quietly. You don't have to make a big fuss over it, nor do you have to go into a long explanation.

Don't ever take a chance that delay could cause further emabrrassment! If it's a small group, just get up quietly, mutter "Excuse me. i'll be back in a few minutes" and leave. No explaination necessary. you're an adult, not a child who's wandering off1 If you big enough to be in a business meeting, you're big enough to leave if necessary. If it's a large meeting, just quietly leave and return when you can just as quietly. If the meeting was very important, and if your boss or supervisor was chairing the meeting, after it is all over, find a private moment and simply say "I apologize for having to leave the meeting. I had an upset stomache. Your meetings are always filled with so much information. Is there a chance you could fill me in with what i missed!" This will get you points with the boss as well as covering your absence to the only person who counts.

Obviously you don't want to announce loudly "gotta go take a dump now" in fact, why do you even need to say why it is you need to leave the room, just very politely excuse yourself, move quickly out of the room, hurry back and be sure to apologize for the disruption once you are back in your seat. If later on your boss asks you why you left you can decide what to tell him or her (be discreet though) unless he or she is a complete jack*** they will understand that needing to use the restroom is a natural occurance and sometimes, can not be held

It it's a larger group, just excuse yourself and leave quietly. When you return just take your seat. You don't need to announce where you are going. If someone makes a bid deal out of it, just tell them "sorry, I had an upset stomach" or something to that effect.

If it's a small meeting, just politely ask if you could break for a few minutes.

well you should politely excuse yourself. and then try and get it over with as quickly as possible and hurry back to the meeting and come back in quietly. like say before you leave "excuse me" and when you come back just sit down quietly and maybe ask one of your co-workers what you missed. and actually it might be better just to go before the meeting or try to hold it.
thx for the 2 points! ☺

Act like your cell phone went off and it was an important call.
say " excuse me I have to take this call" leave the room professionally and then run like hell to the bathroom.

Don't say anything except, "excuse me" and quietly leave the room.

You say, "Please excuse me for a moment. I will be right back." Everyone will assume you either have to use the restroom, or cough. No big deal.
