I have had these same issues with my own hair--it's frustrating, I know!

If you would like to wear your hair wavy, try using a curl-specific mousse and blow-dry your hair with a diffuser. This dries your hair and prevents it from blowing all over the place, which actually makes it straighter.

Good luck, have patience, and remember--it's only hair :)

If you would like to wear your hair straight, I would suggest drying you hair straight out of the shower so that it doesn't start drying into its natural curls. Brushing it in all directions over your head while drying gives it nice shape and volume, and helps to straighten it out a little. Use some sort of heat protection product--there are about a zillion of them out there! Then straighten it with a ceramic or tourmaline straightener. As for those curly bangs, I would recommend spraying a little aerosol hair spray on them BEFORE using the straightener. This makes it hold without being stiff or sticky.

try a curl activating shampoo, don't use conditioner, it will flatten hair, use a curl activating lotion, it will bring out the natural curl. you can also try super hold gel or mousse. flip your hair upside down, apply plenty of product, and scrunch, scrunch, scrunch!
and never use a blowdryer! let your hair dry naturally. if you absolutely have to blowdry, use a difuser. I hope this helps you out! I have naturally straight hair, but I've seen my best friend work on her curls enough to pick up some tips! she also carries a spray bottle full of water in the back seat of her car to reactivate her curls! sounds funny I know! but it works!!
good luck to you!

You could try a roller set. Buy a pack of large rollers that you can sleep in, and some setting lotion. That way you will end up with nice body and soft curls that lasts all day.
