Christian: rofl those stupid atheists! everyone knows humans are special and they were personally crafted by god!!

Me: In that case, are you saying the fact that CHIMPANZEES HAVE 98% OF THE SAME DNA doesn't apply?

could it be both?
Perhaps a divine being created the universe and set everything in motion so that humans would evolve?

Does it matter?
Perhaps we should work on our similarities instead of our differences?

I use to be religious and beleive in creation, until I took it upon myself to investigate all possibilities. This meant I read science books on evolution. The evidence is SO overwhelming it is amazing. Everything from fossils, to geological surveys, to carbon dating, to archeological evidence. There is NO doubt about evolution. There are fossils of half-man, half-apes. There are fish that breath air (lung fish). Evolution is all around us and still taking place. Nobody can convince you of this in a short answer, if you really want to know the answer, take it upon your self to pick up ANY evolution book in your local library, and you will be blown away. There is so much more evidence than what we are taught in school. It doesn't mean there is no God, it just means that some of the bible is incorrect. Maybee that part was added by humans. FYI - Genesis was the last book of the Old Testament added by the Jews during their captivity in Bablyon and coincidentally, Genesis is VERY similar to ancient Pagan Babylonian myths, that were around before Genesis. So, I and a lot of other people, beleive that it was written by humans.

extremely than grant you with one thousand examples from one hundred distinctive fields of technology, i'm going to easily grant you with my very own well-known occasion. It definitively proves human/chimp consumer-friendly ancestry (btw in case you have a rebuttal to this i could like to pay attention it). So in accordance to evolution, people and chimps shared a consumer-friendly ancestor approximately 6 million years in the past. So if this is real there could desire to be similarities in our DNA and there are, yet there is one considerable distinction. they have 24 pairs of chromosomes, we've 23. you are able to now't merely lose a chromosome, the embryo could be non-doable. Deletion of a finished chromosome is deadly. So there are 2 possibilities: one million. A chromosome fusion exceeded off in the human lineage AFTER the cut up from the traditional ancestor, leaving us with one much less pair, or 2. evolution is fake. So if we do have a fused chromosome we could desire to consistently have the potential to locate it. Chromosomes have markers on the top noted as teleomeres, yet whilst we've a fused chromosome we could desire to consistently have one chromosome with inactive teleomeres in the middle the place they do no longer belong. If we don't locate it, evolution isn't real. seems this is human chromosome #2. this is obtainable to pinpoint the real fusion website to interior a dozen base pairs (out of three billion). Human chromosome #2 resulted in the head to head fusion of two chromosomes that stay separate in different primates, and that they correspond directly to chimp chromosomes #12 and #12. the reason at the back of this is by using the fact they're arranged via length, #one million being the biggest. so because it is it, definitive DNA data that we share a consumer-friendly ancestry with chimpanzees. Evolution is fact.

98% is a long way from 100. Matter is neither created nor destroyed, so I'm guessing God used similar matter and order to create different species. There are very distinct things that separate humans from other species. Evolution exists, no doubt, but that doesn't disprove God. I believe it all, including the Big Bang. It is not about what we learn, but how we learn.

Actually evolution is one of the greatest scientifically supported theories of all time. Look it up. The only reason they still use the word "Theory" is because after Newtons LAWS were found to not apply to very small objects scientists got wise and started calling everything theories in case they needed to be appended or modified.

Better read Origin of Species with the help of a biologist and realise the quintessential argument as put forward by Darwin.Darwin does not counter religion and God.He speaks facts out of what he experienced. It is better for us not to succumb ourselves to any faith in a servile fashion.Instead develop rationality.Never be a tool in the hands of Religious people who talk day in day out about God but they themselves do not know what God is.Realise that they are mere prisoners to what pittance learning they have.

Evolution has so much proof behind it that only a brain dead cretin could deny it. God Theory, on the other hand, couldn't hold a thimble full of water. GOD THEORY - The accumulated myths and superstitions of your ancestors which have been dogmatized, institutionalized and mounded into the colossal pile of crap you call ultimate truth.

I think it sounds better that we were thoughtfully created than a freak accident when 2 boogers collided. So there's that.

They still haven't found a true "missing link" linking humans to any form of ape.
