I've tried calming lotions and even prescription medication....... but I'm still very "rosy" on the cheeks.

Hi, I actually read this really good article about homemade treatments for rosacea, you'll find more useful information there I'm sure: http://www.carefair.com/Skincare/Acne/How_to_Handle_Rosacea_1020.html

I have had trouble with rosacea for the past 10 years or so...within the last 3 years I totally changed my diet to eating more organic foods, NEVER drinking tap water...(spring or distilled only) try to drink 64 oz a day. and cut out medicines as much as possible. I also take herbal supplements when needed. within the first 2 months of this change (which was for a different health problem) I stopped having problems with rosacea . I haven't had a flare up since..it's been great. After I started feeling better and clear skinned my mom started following the same changes and her rosacea cleared up too

Mine was so bad that it was red all the time and burned most of the time. it was awful..My skin is super clear now.

Good Luck I know it can be awful...

Have you tried a tinted zinc oxide sunscreen ? that can both protect from the sun and cover the redness.

The link below will take you to a tinted zinc oxide review page - a product that was formulated especially for rosacea sufferers.

Another option might be something from Eucerin Redness Relief range.

* The Daily Perfecting Lotion has an SPF of 15 and provides a light, all-day moisture that subtly conceals red, blotchy skin.
* The Tone Perfecting Cream contains green concealing pigments and can be used under makeup.

as a medical doctor, I recommend prescription meds such as topical Metrolotion or (for severe cases) oral antibiotics doxycycline.
