unless one of you will be moving in the future to either the usa or uk then no.
what would be the point in even starting as you would have to visit each other regularly for this to work
not to mention the calls / emails etc etc
think long and hard over this as i would say you may fall for him and the distance comes between you as neither of you wants to move.
its a long way to move only to find out he lives like a pig or is a neat freak or goes to bed really early or not at all etc etc....
you may think you know them from the visits but to a certain extent you will only see 'best behaviour'
good luck

long distance relationships are possible. it's hard but with trust, patience and a lot of traveling, if you want to make it work it will. always keep the lines of communication open. in our day and age and with technology the way that it is, there's no exscuse not to keep in touch. and take pictures of yourself and get some from him. if you can, get web cams, not for porn or anything dirty, but the visual can be key. take it slow and have fun. if you don't eventually have the romantic relationship you may want, you can always see him as a cool person and a great person to hang with when you're in the states and vise versa.

When I first saw the word distant, the first thought in my mind was that it isn't going to work. It can though if both people really want it to.
