Well I'm only 15 and I was just wondering how most of you parents feel when you turn on the tv and you hear that another teenager has threw her baby in the garbage or when you do research online and see how many females get abortions. How do you feel about that. I know its none of my business but it just makes me mad. It's like c'mon, the baby didn't want to be here that was your choice. That was your decision. Anyways how do ya'll feel about it?

I think abortion is wrong and it should be illegal. I think the first right stated in the Declaration of Independence and the 14th Amendment is the right to LIFE.

However, the people in their uninfinite wisdom and decided that it is a womans body and she should have the right to choose what happens with it.... a question of privacy. This raises questions of about the privacy being restricted with regards to the use of drugs and prostitution. Isn't it their bodies. Also, seat belt and other issues of personal choice.

Another point is that Abortion total violates the 14th Amendment when it allows women an act that it does not or cannot afford to men, the right to decide if they will be a parent.

Regardless, of your view on a right to life due to the development of the baby in its fetal stages. We all know that they are usually born human and their birth creates parents out of the man and the woman responsible for their conception. Women are given the freedom to choose parenthood and it is protected under the law. However, a man is not given this choice. This is a violation of the equal rights amendment. The woman can have the child and keep it, give it up for adoption or abort it. A man cannot do these things at any stage after conception. Even though both the man and the woman have choices at ever stage of that equally, at the point of parenthood it stops. The odd thing is that a court won't force a woman to carry a baby for 9 months because it is her body, but they will force a man to pay child support for 18 years.

It simply is a human rights abuse issue. It is worse than genocide. It is homocide. It is not a natural thing to have occur on as grand a scale as it is done for convenience to help people avoid having to be responsible for their own actions. The odd thing I find is that the same people who are in favor of abortion are against the death penalty. They prefer to kill the innocent and protect the guilty.

For those who think that it is better to allow abortion to be legal because it keeps all the innocent women from dieing in back alley abortions or killing their own kids after birth. Then why not just make all crimes easier so that the innocent people who are committing a crime against themselves with others are not put in jeopardy of getting into trouble for it. I never understood how the people in those situations where ever seen as innocent when they were committing such a gastly act. If you think that is okay, then the next time a person pulls a gun on you and threatens to kill you what do you say we just let him do it and not worry about protecting your life because I am sure he had a reason for you to die to make his life better, in the same way that person having the abortion is doing. They are both murder. Why is it that our society has a difficult time charging women with horrific or terrible crimes. Now it is turning to women and child abuse and how they are treated differently under the law. Consider all the women teachers with their students and how society reacts to those as compared to men teachers.

Our society is suffering from INJUSTICE...... (whew... sorry, and thank you for your attention)

Well I had an abortion before because I believed my partner was not ready to be a mature father. It was not a planned pregnancy and I didnt think I could allow myself to live sanely knowing that I had a child out in the world if I'd had given it up for adoption. Now that I'm a little bit older, and a mother of two. I see how wonderful these babys can be. No mother can actually say that they love their baby while it's in the womb; because the connection and the bond isnt present until birth. When a mother delivers the feeling and the bond is so strong between her and her baby. Thats why doctors dont allow you to bond with the baby when you deliver if youre putting it up for adoption for fear that the mother will renege on her decision. A person thought process is totally differnent once they deliver. That's why doctors who perform abortions dont allow patients to see the ultrasound picture before the actual procedure. When teenagers do things like that, they are really emotional and distraught about taking care of a baby. Most of them are unaware of the assistance that the government provides for single mothers. So no it's not maddening, it's sad. Recently I looked at a website that showed the torture that these infants go through during the an abortion, and it brought tears and guilt to my eyes. You can actually see their facial features, and little fingers. I vowed to my husband that I will not ever have an abortion again, unless I was raped. SO DON'T FIGHT THE WAR AGAINST ABORTION WITH ANGER, fight it informatively with incite, love, and understanding.

As a woman and a parent, I believe that the decision to have a baby is between a woman and god. I managed to raise my kids okay, but if I had a whole bunch more how would I have coped? Why should a girl's or woman's life be worth less than that of a POTENTIAL child? If a girl feels her family will be mad about the pregnancy, she may not feel she has a choice, try to ignore it and get caught up in a situation that ends up with her having a baby. Birth control doesn't always work. Rest assured if men had to go through pregnancy, childbirth and all the rest, abortion pills would be handed out on street corners.

At the time the vast majority of abortions are performed, it is not yet a baby. It is a cluster of cells called an "embryo". Abortion is not used by women as a form of birth control - rather it is almost always a heart-wrenching, emotionally painful decision. Isn't having an abortion better than throwing the baby in the dumpster??? Or, less sensational but MUCH more common, a child being born to a parent to is dealing with drug/alcohol addictions, family violence, extreme poverty, or simply a parent who is emotionally unavailable or too immature to mother a child?

First of all, sometimes, it isn't your decision, ever heard of rape? For all you who will say the percentages of pregnancy from rape are low, WHO CARES! It DOES happen. Secondly, I feel more strongly about abortion staying legal now that I am a parent. I have a wonderful 2yr. old who needs me. If a pregnancy was going to put my life in danger, I do it in an instant, and never look back. I know those percentages are low too, but pregnancy can put your life in danger. It is irresponsible parenting to put you life in danger. My baby is here, now, in this world, and he NEEDS me. All I can say is, for all you pro-life people, I respect your beliefs, but I would not stand idly by and let abortion be made illegal. Just because of the small percentage of women who have GOOD reasons for wanting or needing an abortion.

I think that it is wrong to bring a innocent being into the world and start it's life by throwing it away, that is never acceptable. I don't feel like abortion is okay unless it is done for medical reasons. Besides, there is always adoption and there are plenty of loving couples that would love to have a child and can't. I think that if at all possible, putting a child up for adoption is much more acceptable than abortion.

Joana, That is a deep question with a lot of anger in there too. It comes back to the choice question that we all face. There are two very opposite sides to this issue, and it sound like you in the middle. As a Dad with three daughters I would allow them to make the choice. I would support their choice whatever it is and would try hard not to let my feeling interfere with what they decide.

Personally, I support pro-choice. I feel torn on this basically because of my up-bringing but I still feel it is a person's body and that makes it their choice not mine.

I hope you continue to think this deeply as you grow older. You asked a great question to us parents.

Depending on where you live, therapeutic abortions are already legal. If a woman's health is seriously at risk, due to pregnancy, then it is legal in many provinces in Canada for a doctor to perform an abortion. The abortion, however, must be performed before 16 weeks.

This is just my opinion! There are married couples in the world that try to have babies and can not. No it is not there fault its just the nature of things. No i dont understand why these babies cant be born and adoptedby these families that can't have babies of their own. This is just one of those things that i leavein the hands of god and pray about with my children every night when we say all the people of the world to close the prayer amen!

well i personally would never have an abortion but i do think that it should be a womans choice. if they make it illegal, the women will just perform the abortions on their own which would be even more devastating.
