Sometimes you just have to accept that bad things can happen to you and try to let it go. Honestly somethings you don't forget, so the only thing you can do is let it go and learn from it. Some people find comfort in talking to a therapist or a friend about things, or even learn about meditation and try that. You can't just stuff something down and forget about it you have to confront it and deal with it, then move on...good luck, and don't be afraid to ask for help from someone if you need it.

I dont think that you can forget about something completely. I have been trying to do that for many years. There have always been experiences that I wish I could forget. All you can do is accept and learn from what happened.

A lot of times it's hard for us to forget. It just depends on what it is we're trying to forget. If it was a realtionship that soured, try not to think about it. I know that's easier said than done, but you will forget it eventually. If it was somebody who died, then you really never forget that. Just try not to think about it a lot.

The key to forgetting about something is to not think about it.
Depending on what it is you want to forget......you may never completely forget it, unfortunately, but you can train your mind
to not think about it all the time.
Basically, everytime this thought pops into your mind you must make a conscience decision to think about something else...
sports, tv shows, weekend plans, etc.

If it was something negative ( most likley or you wouldn't want to forget), check into forgiveness. It's a healer. You may never forget, but forgiveness takes the bad feelings away.

You can forget something that happend earlier in the day.
That doesn't mean you might not remember it with some coaxing....or perhaps it just wasn't memorable enough.
