, and it was done gently, do you feel you are entitled to remaining friends, assuming you want to, with that person, or do you understand if he/she feel too hurt in your presence to remain there, and thus wants to no longer associate with you? Do you accept or refuse the possible consequence that the dumpee might not want to be in your life anymore?

I think time and space are important right after a break up....at least a few months. Trying to be friends right away typically makes it seems like dating again almost, or at least in my situations. Then when one person starts dating someone else or decides it's not a good idea, it's like a 2nd break up all over again. It sucks because if one person wants to be friends and the other does not, post break up, that's that. You have to accept that the person may not want you to be in his/her life for a while...as much as it sucks, you must not be selfish and just move on

When someone is dumped gently, even though the break-up was handled in a gentle manner it still will most likely cause hurt/angry feelings in the dumpee. I think is is best to assume & accept that the person will not want to speak to you for a while or ever. If you end up friends that's great but it is unlikely that you'll be best buds after the break-up. Maybe when some time has past you can try and re-connect strictly as friends not friends w/ benefits

well I would say when you first break up both people need a little time apart first before you can remain friends. both parties need to work thru any feelings or hostility towards the other person. after that there is no reason two people can't be friends.

Oh, yeah, you ahve to accept that potential total loss.
If you let it go, etc...
you only want a partial return, though, so it can get confusing. Give the pesron space.

nicely in case you quite can no longer wait until college starts off returned up. attempt sending him a text fabric letting him understand which you quite opt to talk. speaking on the telephone can atleast provide him an excellent gamble to beg.

I have no desire to stay friends with any ex I was in love with nor do I expect them to be my friend. When people date and it doesn't work your just supposed to go your separate ways.
