Okay, so my friend has had a really bad headache for the past several days. It has been coming and going, and lasts through the night. She is convinced she has a brain tumor. The pain is throught her head, meaning not just the front or not just the back. She has been taking tylenol several times during the day, but it usually doesn't help. Sometimes it even makes her feel a little bit dizzy.

p.s. She is a high school student and it does not have anything to do with her menstrual cycle.

I have suffered migraines since I was 10 and I am 48. Try 2 Tylenol and 1 benedryl only if not allergic. Put a warm compress across the forehead and lay down in a dark area. After a couple of hours check on her and see if it has subsided. If she continues to have the headache she needs to go to the hospital. Headaches don't always happen because of her menstrual cycle. Stress can cause this. As far as a tumor don't worry unless a doctor tells you its a tumor. Get checked anyway.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Migraines, a cold, severe dehydration, sleep deprivation or any number of conditions also cause headaches. Hell, maybe she just needs to sit a little further from the computer to reduce eyestrain or maybe she's a hypochondriac. If the problem persists, call a doctor.

It might not be a brain tumor, but it certainly is a problem. It sounds very much like a migraine. Your friend needs to see a doctor about this.

Good luck!

I have that problem all the time. It might be just migraines, they have medication specifically to help stop migraines. Also when it's really bad she should try just taking a nap...it may help a little bit.

A sinus infection can give you a bad headache that is not consistent.
