First of all, thank god you're not too shy to speak your mind, stand up for someone marked for shaming, and back up your stand with a threat.
You need to be able to carry out all threats or you look like chump, by the way, and remembering that will help when you're a boss or a dad even moreso than now.
Anyway, you are not obsessed. Tehy are trying to shame you into compliance with the group's opinions. Opinions not only of her, but of you, and their own behavior.
They know they are wrong, so they are working over your ego instead.
You're onto their game now, so you can either confront them with the knowledge that they're afraid to be make apologies for their own behavior, or you can try to find a way for them to save face.
Either way, your ego is stronger than theirs, it seems, and you will one day attract the right kind of self-respecting female you deserve.
And don't worry about the girl. She will hopefulyl one day find that same self-respect, but you can only model it for her, not save her from her shyness and probable insecurity.
She'll do it on her own time.

I think you had a very good reaction.
Any man who is a gentleman should not be at easy hearing a girl being mocked and offended like that. Any girl. Let alone someone you know. Your friends were being rude impolite and imature. Of course they wont say that, so they have to justify their action saying they are right and you wrong. So of course they will blame you somehow. Dont let it get to you. Keep an eye on them. They can be mocking you behind your back too.

I do not think for a minute you are obssesed, I think you are a gentleman who is taking up for someone that you care about. People can be really mean and nasty, it is refreshing to hear things like this to know there are still men in the world who respect women. GOOD FOR YOU, I hope it works out for you with your new girl :-)

You're not obsessed, you're just feeling how she was when they were making fun of her. You'll realize when you get out of high school how immature some people can be even as adults. You did the right thing! Don't let your so called friends get you down because you didn't do anything wrong. If they don't like it then tough ****!

Good for you...there turns out there are some gentlemen out there after all. You did the right thing...totally wrong to talk about a girl like that..no respect whatsoever. I am sure if it were their sister they would not like it...but then again seems like your friends by the way they talk they wouldn't give a damn anyway.
Oh by the way this does not mean you are obsessed, just a descent guy.

I don't think you're obsessed, I just think that you were trying to do the right thing. Sometimes, seniors in high school can be very cruel, I know that because they make fun of me everyday, so I thank you for making a difference in that girl's life.
PS: May I ask in what high school you're going to?

No, what you are is decent.

By the way, I would ditch those friends, every one of them. No one who is like that for any reason is worth a second of your time. Even if the girl doesn't end up as your girlfriend or anything, they still are jerks.

No it doenst mean you are obsessed,,,,it means you are a real man with real feelings. And those so called friends of yours should be ashamed of themselves. What makes them think they are better than anyone else. Punks is what they sound like to me. Its good that you stood up for her,,,,you will make a great boyfriend to someone one day. Good for you.

I was like the ugly ducky....YOU ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING> and those other guys are a bunch of @ssholes. They should get a remedy from their own medicine!!!
