Before we started dating, we agreed to be friends if we ever decided to break up. I figured he would be over it by now because we have been best friends for a long time. He will say a few words to me but only like once in 2 weeks. Does that also mean that he cant make up his mind about what he wants? He also intends to stare at me more than usual everytime I turn around.

Everyone has their own way of dealing with breakups. Breaking up is hard to do and getting over a breakup takes time. Months maybe even years! My guess is that since he seems to be around you every so often that all it does is remind him of the past. I think it will take a while yet for him to move on. At least until either you or he start seeing someone else.

Before you started dating, you didn't know what you were getting yourself into. After you break up, anything you agreed to becomes null and void, meaning you don't need to do anything you said you would do. If he's young, meaning under 25, he probably just doesn't have enough experience to know what he wants from you, but if he's not asking you back out on dates, it's pretty clear he doesn't want to get back with you enough to pay any attention to the idea. He probably stares at you because he's still curious how you act around other people, namely guys. This doesn't mean too much in the way of if he wants to get back with you. It just means he is curious about you still, and the best thing you can do for yourself and if you ever want to get him back is to start dating other people. This will either jump start his interest in you again, or it will help you move on. Either way, you're in a good position.

he could be acting this way for a number of reasons. Maybe he doesnt know how to act around you now because he's used to being more than friends with you...maybe he is still hurting and cofused about how he feels about you...maybe he misses you and he is scared to be around you in fear that it might hurt too much or that it will make it woorse. It's quite possible too that he just feels ackward and doesn't know how to deal with the situation so his method is avoidence.

never be friends with an ex for this reason, u gotta move on and cut him out completely. Play the field and forget about that dude, it's a dead loss that isn't worth pursuing.

You are broken up. It's sounds like you haven't accepted that fact yet. You must decide to move on, which I suggest, or try to formally get back together....just my 2 cents

True friends are friends forever, maybe you did not asked him at the first place, maybe he has someone more than just a good friends. All you got to do is ask.

well, personally i think that he still wants you. he's probably really shy and feels awkward talking to u afta tha breakup, maybe thats why he's been really distant in talkn to u. and if he's staring, i think that definitaly means he eitha wants you back, is wondering how he could let you go, or jus reminicing

depending on how long you were going out he could still be trying to get rid of his feelings for you. i would wait a little longer and then confront him about it.

He was only friends with you in the first place to get in your pants. Now that he has accomplished that he has moved on to bigger and better things.
