A lot of people, including me, have done. It's often a phase (though I was sick of people saying that when I was in love with her) but that doesn't mean it's not real, it just means that at that time you have hormones that make you fall for someone of the same sex. Just see how it goes. Though it may well not be reciprocated.
Good luck x

First, get your grades up. You got straight A's before, start studying again, no one worth it will be into you if you're lazy and don't do your work. As far as this girl goes, if you think there's some sexual tension there and you like her, both of which seem to be true, the next time you're hanging out alone together outside of school say something about it. You can say, "I have the feeling some people think that there's something going on between us. Do you think we flirt too much or that there's some kind of sexual tension between us?" If she says no and/or seems a little freaked out by it, it gives you an easy out to just blow it off as people's imagination and the two of you just being close friends. She might, however, agree that there's something there, giving you the opportunity to tell her that you've been feeling it too.

Sure, why not? I once knew a girl who fell in love wiht her best friend and they were happy together for a few years before their relationship fell apart (they had differences that they couldn't overcome).

Nobody said that you can't feel things for another person... that's why in this world we have people who are straight, people who are gay/lesbian, and people who are bisexual. It's okay to love somebody regardless of your sex and theirs.... just be honest about it to yourself and them. It would be hard to tell your best friend that you have feelings for her but perhaps you could just say something different ... like you found a question on here with somebody asking the same question you just asked and you wanted to know what she thought of it.... find how she would react to the idea before you begin thinking about telling her how you feel.... if she's grossed out by the idea then I would keep your feelings hidden...if she's okay wiht it, perhaps take a walk to a park and find a quiet place and just talk to her...tell her that you are starting to have feelings for a friend who's female as well and you need somebody to talk to.... if she's okay wiht that then if you feel comfortable, tell her that the friend you are having feelings for is her and that you don't want it to ruin your friendship but you felt she needed to know how you felt.

Good luck... and stay strong.

There is nothing wrong with being attracted to someone of the same sex. It is perfectly okay.
