I found a pup and his Mom dumped out on the side of the road years ago. The Mom was smooth bald all over due to mange, and had many open infected sores. Some of them appeared green. The pup was in same condition, but with a sprig of hair here and there.
The Mom was dead, but the pup was alive, energetic, scared and feverish. I managed to catch him, and take him home.
Long story short, I cured him. But I am positive that his Mom died from those infected sores.
