I suggest you explore all federal funding and grant options at the Federal Student Aid website http://federalstudentaid.ed.gov/

You may also want to read the Handbook of the Pell Grant -- this is an 86 page document that contains everything about the grant
http://ifap.ed.gov/sfahandbooks/attachments/0203Vo3MasterFile.pdf

Or you can call the Federal Student Aid Information Center http://www.ed.gov/programs/fpg/gtepfpg.pdf at 1-800-433-3243 and inquire about the process of getting grants for school

Aside from FAFSA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and Pell Grant http://www.ed.gov/programs/fpg/index.html , you may want to explore private foundation grants

For private grants, you may want to check the Foundation Center's Foundation Grants for Individuals Online http://gtionline.fdncenter.org . It's a subscription based website ($9.95 per month) and their opening blurb says that the database is ideal for "students, artists, academic researchers, libraries and financial aid offices." You may be able to find grants from private foundations.

The only way you know if you qualify is to apply. Give it a try! If you don't qualify for the federal grants, you still need a FAFSA on file to qualify for federal student loans.

The only website you should go to for applying for federal student aid is www.fafsa.ed.gov. The application is free and there are tools to help you ensure you are completing it correctly. When do you plan to transfer? If you are starting in Jan. 07, complete your FAFSA right away! If you will be starting in the 07-08 school year (Aug 07) the FAFSA will not be available till Jan 1, 07 for that year.

After applying, any school you listed on your FAFSA will contact you within 2-4 weeks to let you know that they received your information, and whether any additional documents are needed (tax returns, worksheets, etc.). If you don't hear from them, contact your school's Financial Aid Office for more information.

You may also want to contact your school's Financial Aid Office for more information about the university's scholarship application process and deadline dates.

For any other specific questions, it is always best to contact a Financial Aid Assistant at your school. We are trained to provide students with information on applying and maintaining eligibility for federal student aid.

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov is the only website that will give you information about qualifying for Federal Grants. You can look on http://www.fastweb.com, and they have additional information about scholarships and whatnot. Only other thing I can suggest is going to a search engine like Yahoo! Search, and typing in Federal Education Grants.

PELL grant is your proper guess. I paid for 2 years of community college with the help of that, with as a lot as 600 funds funds each and every time period after books and preparation. Fill it out and turn it in January 1st for the 2010-eleven college year. likely too previous due for this year, this is first come first serve, so that they could not have a lot money left for it.
