Wow, i thought you were gonna pierce something else...Find a Tattoo shop/ pierce shop. They'll do you right. Or go old school like I did and ice and safety pin. Throbs like hell, but its punk rock.

Please do NOT get it at a mall! Claires is a horrible place especially.

Go to a licensed piercing parlor where it is more expensive, but so much safer. Any place that uses a gun should be shut down since you can not fully sterilize those suckers and is possible to transmit diseases. Besides, these people maybe went through a day's worth of training and have no idea what is going on.

If you want safety, check out your local tattoo/piercing parlors.

NEVER EVER EVER GO TO CLAIRE'S or the booths in the mall. The piercing gun is not meant for piercing any body part on anyone!!!

The proper way to pierce cartilage is with a needle, not a piercing gun. Seek out a local tattoo/piercing shop and talk with the piercer who works there. You may pay more, but you will get a better piercing and it will be done properly.

Well, besides Claire's, there is the store owned by Claire's, ICING.

Or you can go to Spencers. Spencers are real professionals.

I have mine pierced. I had it pierced at ICING. They give you the earring you want and two bottles of cleaner. Make sure you clean it three times a day, or else it'll get badly infected. That happened to me, but I dealt. I am now opening my gauge by just changing the size of my ring. So, it's pretty safe if you are wondering, as long as you take care of your new piercing.

Oh, and the piercing gin doesn't hurt. It feels like a pinch for a second. It's not so bad for you. Don't listen. I'm first hand.

its best to go to a tattoo parlor or a piercing place, because the needles they use will actually pierce a hole...but like claires or someplace where they use a gun it just shoots a earring through and spreads the skin. i would suggest a tattoo/piercing parlor. they do a better job

Your local Tattoo Shop, they will pierce it there for you. Don't go to Claire's for those types of piercings.

PLEASE... go to a tattoo parlor. Most of these places do body piercing as well. It is far less painful to get your cartilage done at one of these places than at a stand in the mall. I've had both experiences, the mall stands and a body art place. SPEND THE EXTRA ON GETTING IT DONE AT A TATTOO PARLOR

go to a piercer....they are liscenced professionals, and claires are girls who are in their early 20s with a piercing gun. Piercing guns suck and they always make the piercing look crooked. pluas their choices of jewellry suck, and the piercer has a wider selection, if u go to the right one they are sterile and safer. I have never seen a girl at claires wash her hands before piercing someone's ear, and who the hell knows where their hands have been. don't even let me get started with how "sterile" the guns are.

EDIT: wal-mart NOOOOO!!!! my sis made that mistake...the result? she got a second hole in her ear and they were very noticably crooked, and she is PISSED. go to a GOOD CLEAN piercer...hence the title piercer, they pierce your body safely and if the right one is selected clean. kids dont ever pierce yourself...you're just asking for trouble.

If you want it for free, go to Claires. I'd recommend a LICENSED tatoo or earring parlor. It's less likely to get infected. Claires is good, but the employees do it.
