me && my ex bf were dating for 2 and a half years. && he recently just broke up with me the day after thanksgiving and he's already talking to another girl. and his friends are pretty much my friends now. my friend is married to chris's (my ex) friend. and they want me to come help paint their house. & i already told her i would help. and i told chris that i dont want to fight and i dont want us to act weird around eachother. it will be awkward. and he said ok. & he's not gonna bring the girl he is talking to. cause he is gonna help with the floor. but then he told his friend that if i go he doesnt know if hes gonna go cause he doesnt want to fight. but i dont want to fight with him. i want us to be friends. cause they dont want to choose sides.. if its such a inconvience should i not go?

You should do what you think is right. If you think it is going to turn out badly, don't go. But if you want to go, then i say go. Your ex (whether or not you want to still be friends with him) should have no impact on where you go and who you hang out with.

Well let him go and paint, after all they were his friends first. Also he is the one who dumped you, so I see no reason to be friends at all and the fact that he is already seeing someone just means he was cheating on you. Him and his friends can have fun with each other, I think you should find some better friends.

Tell your friend that you want to help, but due to the recent breakup it would be best if the two of you aren't there at the same time. If they can schedule the projects at different times, then go when he's not there. Otherwise, be a friend from the sidelines and step away and find your own friends... not his!

If you guys never get back together will these people still be your friends ?? If not then I wouldn't go. Scratch that, if they were his friends first I'm sure they will stay his friends if you guys never get back together. Dont go.
