I am 5'5-105-female. Out of school, hardly do anything really- and I haven't ever gained weight ever since my first year at high school. I am not that active. So my question is, is there a possibly way that i can be certain that nothing is wrong with me? If there is something wrong with me, what is it?

Some people are just ectomorphs. If you feel generally healthy otherwise, there's probably not a problem.

Not to imply anything with comparing people with dogs, but I have 5 dogs, and four gain weight the less they exercise and the more they eat, but the fifth is a permanent string bean. He eats a lot, and is totally healthy, but he's just skinny by nature.

If you feel you have digestive problems, or think you're TOO underweight, make an appointment. It is possible you might have digestive issues that keep your weight down. But it's certainly possible to simply be an ectomorph by nature.

As for what could be wrong, if anything, you'd have to ask your physician, but sometimes intestinal parasites keep you from properly digesting your food and keep your weight down. But don't jump to conclusions. Make an appointment, but if you generally feel healthy otherwise, you might just be naturally slim.

there is nothing wrong with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just have fast metabolism, which any woman would die for! I am basically the same as you. I am 5'5" and was 105 from my freshman year of high school until a few years after I graduated college...I am now 26 and have gained a few pounds since then...and I am trying to lose it!!!! But you are fine. You can go to the dr and have blood tests done if you really want to be sure! Enjoy it though...it may not last!!!

You could just have a fast metabolism, but you should go to your doctor. First off you have to examine your diet. Are you getting adequate nutrition? Are you consuming at least 38g of protien a day and on a 1200 cal diet? Also, try muscle building exercises such as squats, push-ups and crunches. You can easily do them in front of the TV or anywhere!

nuthin is wrong with you unless u feel unhealthy. its more than likley that ur metabolism is super high thats all. when i was 18 i was rail thin and ppl used to say stuff to me but its just how my body was when i was that age. if u r worried about stayin healthy and keep ur metabolism, its a super great idea to snack on stuff every 3 hrs. like somethin right when u wake up (doesnt have to be big at all) then munch every 3 hrs... it keeps ur body happy!! :)

Don't worry you will gain weight eventually. Have you spoken with your doctor? You can drink Ensure and milkshakes to help gain weight but once you start gaining it is hard to stop and losing weight is hard.

First of all you should go see a doctor and have a physical done, or maybe you're just lucky and have a really good metabolism.

well you may have more brown cells than white cells and that can be good dont worry you are young and your metabolism is strong, when you get older say hello to thunder hips and ect. dont worry you will gain weight when you get older go talk to your doctor, maybe he/she will have you take a speical diet to fatten up.
