I’m thinking of starting an in home daycare. Does anybody have any suggestions on where to start? I really want to be a stay at home mom, but financially my husband and I cannot do it. I think an in home day care would give me the privilege of being with my baby all day. Does anybody have any advice or tips on running a daycare? Where do I start? Where can I find info? What would you look for as a parent in a home daycare?

Start by doing an Internet search for home daycare regulations (in what ever state your in). Call your local child and family services. They can help you as well. It is NOT easy to get certified. A friend of mine was trying to get certified but could not. Your house must meet strict standards. By yourself you can only have a certain number of children in your care.

As a parent what would I look for in a in home day care? It wouldn't change if it was a child care center or in home daycare. I would look for a clean place where the children seem happy. Low child to adult ratios. No more than 4 kids to 1 adult. Little to NO TV time. A curriculum of some sort. In the end I would go with my gut. If I didn't feel comfortable then I would NOT send my child there.

Just because you have an in home daycare it does not mean you will have more time for your kid(s). If your daycare is certified. be prepared for unexpected drop In's of the state.

Get in touch with your local Childcare Connection. This is a government based organization that helps people look for child care find the right place for their kid(s). They can also give you the places to go to get the right start. You are a very smart mother. I want to stay at home as long as I can with my daughter and my son that will be delivered in March. My reasons are that I don't trust just anyone to keep my children. I have a few family members that stay at home that are willing to help me out but still some aren't the best. I know exactly where you are coming from. Good Luck and I hope this helps you.

in my opinion i'd bypass with a daycare midsection for countless causes. a million. there are extra human beings to visual reveal unit care, 2. extra heavily regulated, 3. predictable agenda, 4. age communities are mutually. purely down aspect is they commonly fee extra and they might have better than one providor and turn round will be severe so bonding with there care giver would no longer take position. With abode daycare there is not any human being else there all day to work out what truly is going on, if the daycare service is ill or has children that are ill you'll desire a backup sitter. maximum could have children of distinct a lengthy time period so preparation would no longer be an option. The up aspect to in abode baby care is they are going to easily have one service to bond with it really is impressive, additionally they commonly fee about 0.5 of what a facility prices. once you seem at in abode daycare they should be interviewing you as a lot as you're interviewing them. in view that there is purely one human being there to do care they truly favor to make sensible your baby and your parenting kinds are a reliable adventure. they ought to really have a freelance a similar as a center. both way you bypass i'd make sensible they are qualified and licensed. The regulation of kid to human being ratio is nationwide and is an similar for a facility and in abode baby care.

First thing you need to do is call the state that you live in and get some guidlines. You will also need to take some classes and continuing education classes. Call local daycares and they should be more than willing to help you find numbers / places to call and maybe even some friendly advice.

A friend of mine wanted to do that. There are a ton of standards. I know she didn't end up completing it because there was so much that needed to be done to the home and even surrouding homes/areas to make it live up to state standards. i know she had to go to classes for it. I believe she started by going through the state day care unit. Try calling the state dept. and asking where exactly to start.

I work at an inhome daycare, and I can tell you its wonderful. BUT my advice is have rules, and stick with them and a strict schedule. Children love routine, and they love to do what the other kids are doing. Also try not to cuddle other peoples kids, especially the yougest ones, they need to remember that you arent the mommy! Whatever you do maake sure you get liscensed and have fun with it.

You should have a county child care council. That would be a good place to start.

TAKING CARE OF OTHERS PEOPLE'S CHILDREN IS NOT FOR EVERYONE...IT WILL NOT ENABLE YOU TO SPEND THAT MUCH TIME WITH YOUR CHILD UNLESS YOU IGNORE THE CHILDREN IN YOUR CHARGE..THINK LONG AND HARD ABOUT IT.
