Is this normal? Why am I paying for these? I am 27 and single, have insurance from work, never been in a hospital before. Why? Anyone?

Medical is a state program in which you have to apply for in order to get it. Qualifications include being 65 and over, or under 21, blind or disabled, or if you have minor children. In your case none of this applies to you in which it doesn't make sense for you to have it or even pay for it since it's a government program. Medicare is almost the same thing but you have to be a us citizen and is usually for people with disabilities or elderly people. I sugguest you contact your local social services agency to see how this happened.

Medicare is for when you are older and need Medicare, like social security. (There most likely won't be any left though.) Medical is the insurance that you have through work. That is your part of the premium.
