Ask him to go out and do something with you. Wear a negligee only on sat. mornings. Set up something with friends to do and leave him sit, he will get bored.

Nothing is absolutely wrong with it. It's very normal that many men love watching cartoons. My boyfriend likes to watch cartoons and play games. It's the reason why he is studying animation. As long as it doesn't inter with house chores, events, appts or work, it should be no problem. It's very common in our generation today.

If you have kids, it could be a bonding type thing for them...
It could just be him allowing himself to be a child, nothing wrong with that, afterall, you are only as old as you feel. Perhaps it's his way of escaping things that stress him out, same as if you were to go to a spa for a weekend....

If you're really bothered by it, why don't you talk to him... Marriage works if there is communication...and by the sounds of it, you don't have a lot of it, or you wouldn't be asking others what to do about this situation. I mean no disrespect by that comment as I know nothing that goes on in your life other than what you've posted here, but it seems to me that the only way this issue will get resolved is if you talk to him about it and you both communicate all your feelings on the subject. Perhaps you could come up with other things to do...TOGETHER for part of the morning.

Good luck.

He probably enjoyed cartoons as a kid and now as an adult he might see this time every Saturday morning as his time to relax and do something mindless after a hard week of work. Let him relax and enjoy himself, let him know that you appreciate that he knows how to relax and unwind. You might be surprised at how much attention he gives to you the rest of the week. Find something that you enjoy during that time. That is a good opportunity to do something for yourself.

Let me get this straight - He doesn't drink, do drugs, beat you, or cheat on you, and you're letting a few hours of cartoons bother you? Get over it and count your blessings. My husband watches hours of cartoons EVERY DAY and that's *while* playing video games. It irritates me, but its not worth making a fuss over. After all, he's finished work for the day/week and can unwind in whatever innocuous way he wants.

Cartoon aren't all that bad. What's the problem? Is he neglecting household duties like yard work?

Maybe this is his 'special time' to unwind and relax.

I wouldn't worry about it. Start worrying when he asks for Batman PJs or a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Bday party.

Well, do you have a hectic schedule and need that time together? If not, try finding your own thing, and maintaining youir own identity. (I know, I've been there.)
Or, maybe that's not it at all. You should try compromising, and every other Saturday he needs to do what you want to do. Not what you both agree to; exactly what you pick out. He might go along, or see how unfair it is.
And not to be indiscreet, but have you tried intimacy as a replacement or reward for respecting you?
Good luck!

Why do you hate it? It's something he enjoys and it doesn't endanger you. Seems like a pretty harmless outlet to me.

P.S. I've been married 18 years and I watch almost nothing but cartoons. My wife accepted it a long time ago.

I have a husband who would watch cartoons 24/7 if he could. He has gone so far as recording hours of them just in-case we ever lost our cable. Consider yourself lucky, and get another TV.

You mean from 7 a.m. to noon. Does he spend the rest of the day with you. Harmless stuff. If he spends time with you after that that is cool.
