This video seems to be popular today.
I think it's an excellent, thorough dissection and debunking of the Biblical passages that refer to atheists as "fools".
Please, everyone, take the time to watch it.

I watched the video clip. If George Bush senior really said what the clip says he did, then it sounds silly.
On the other hand, the clip gives a long list of people who did brilliant or good things, claiming they are all atheists. Well, I suspected that it was probably a mixture of atheists, agnostics and believers, but I am not knowledgeable to identify the beliefs of each one. However, watching till the end paid off, because I do no about a couple at the end. Charles Schultz, author of "Peanuts" is mentioned. He was a well-known committed Christian. In fact, a lot of people wondered how a comic strip with a Christian message could survive and be so popular. The reason, of course, is that a lot of people were too dense to catch the meaning of the comic strip.
And Mark Twain. While I would not classify him as a Christian believer, he was far from being an atheist. I have read enough of his writings to know that.
So that leaves me in doubt about all the others. (I had the idea that Marie Curie was a believer, but I won't bet on it - I could be confused).
The strip also mentions that those who do not believe in God are "fools". Actually it refers to "those who say in their hearts - there is no God".. In other words it is not talking about theoretical belief but real belief - a lot of people say they believe in god but the way they act when they are alone shows that in their hearts, they are saying "there is no God". That doesn't mean they are intellectual fools. They might be brilliant. Like Hitler was brilliant. But he was a fool of the worst kind.
And "they do no good thing" - not referring to their works, but that it is not acceptable to God because their hearts are not right. Then again, it is not just referring to intellectual atheists, but to religious people as well, who go on living without God in their lives.

This reminds me of the philosophy of John Locke, upon which the United States was founded... he believed that atheists could not be contributing members of society as they had no God to keep them in line. I'm an atheist and I consider myself as upstanding a citizen (and possibly significantly MORE upstanding) as any Christian.

I don't think that Bush Jr. thinks that highly of us either, judging by his actions. The whole Dominionism movement is geared to try to make non-Christians, especially atheists, second-class citizens.
