if this helps, my hair is really thick & dark, and for the most part straight. it has some waves, though. it's healthy and not dead or anything. i would just like to know what i can do to it to make it really soft :)

mayonise in your hair for 30 minutes and then rinse it out.

super soft hair, also great on sandwhiches.

i also have dark, thick, wavy hair, and its a battle every day to get it straight without ravaging it. i've found the best thing is to use a salon conditioner when you wash, and a deep conditioner (or a hair mask) once a week. its a little pricey for upkeep but it pays to have nice looking hair.
also, because you are babying your hair so much, it means you can use a flat iron on it to keep it straight.
also, only shampoo your scalp, not the ends, that will help to keep the ends from drying out. just let the shampoo run through the ends, but dont massage it in the way you would on your scalp.

phew. good luck!

Hi Jenn,

I would definately reccomend some type of conditioner for the softness. Go overboard! What have you got to lose? For the straightness, I would definately reccomend a hair straightener from Ulta. Check into that!

Good luck!!

pick a good moisturizing conditioner. some of the brands that i have used and like are pantene, frederic fekkai and neutrogena deep conditioner. my hair is very coarse, so these conditioners seem to keep it shiny and soft.

flat irons work really well for straightening and softening your hair at the same time. i love how smooth and slick my hair feels after using one. make sure to get one that has ceramic plates if you decide to go for a flat iron.

Get a good ceramic straightener. I like the coroaliss one. Then i use just a small dab of coconut sheen from the body place. mainly just on the ends because it makes your hair look greasy very easily

try a henna intensive conditioner, then wash with pantene, then condition with pantene, if you want shiny straight, whiz over quickly with hair straighteners. spray on hair shine tonic. People will need sunglasses on to look at you coz your hair will be so shiny and soft !

use a straightener to make it straight, but to make it soft i think it would be best to use a kind of shampoo, but i wouldnt suggest any hi-chemical formula, it might mess your hair up!!!!

To make hair straight you would usually perm it, but you can blow dry it after you put musse in it if you like.
