Simple solution: Say "Hello, my name is ........ What's yours?" By starting a conversation you have at least broken the ice. Hopefully he will take the hint and respond. Life is too short not to make the attempt. What's the worst that could happen; he doesn't respond. O.K. say hello to the next guy. I'm sure you'll find many guys want to communicate with you also. The guy is probably thinking the same question while he is walking down the hall wishing HE had the nerve to say Hi. It will all work out nicely.

Depends on the guy.
For example, I'm clueless to subtle approaches. I normally don't know if a girl is interested or flirting until after the fact, if ever. So I'd need a more direct approach. I think that goes with a shy personality. Just tell him you're interested and give him your phone number.
If the guy is more outgoing he's likely more receptive to subtle flirtation. But since I don't get subtle flirtation I can't really give any examples. Naturally, the direct approach still works though.

Be honest....try this: You know I've seen you many times walking down the hall and I've often wondered what your name is?....my name is ________ then extend your hand. It's awkward because you would be making the first move and it's a chance you're taking. Just think about it this way: If you take a chance, even if you are rejected, at least you know you are. If you don't take a chance you'll never know what you two could have become. Good luck!

"If crushes were easy they would be called something else." Try just saying "Hi" to this guy. Maybe "How's it going?" Or "How's your day going?" Just real basic stuff, but try to avoid asking questions that can be answered with a yes or no. Try to get him talking a little. Oh and REMEMBER THIS: He might be just as nervous as you. Maybe even more!
If you want to take it another step maybe ask him if he has seen such and such a movie yet. If he says yes you can talk about that. If he says no, maybe you can talk about what you have heard about it. He might go with that. Gives him an opening to ask you to the movie as well. Just get him talking and your words will come too. Good luck.

Well, I am sure you don't want to say anything "stupid" around him, but don't worry! Chances are he doesn't know what to say to you either. Be cool confident and give him hints (eye contact, smiles) You could always try waiting until Friday and say something like, "I am soo glad it's Friday"....that could start a conversation. Good luck!!!

Words aren't as important as non-verbal communication. If you just slow down your pace when you see him and show off your smile he will know you're interested.
