Legal immigrants come in legally and have their paper work in order and illegal immigrants sneak into the country without the proper papers or immunizations and tests for things like TB and that kind of thing that can cause sickness here.
Legal Immigrants pay taxes and have tax id no or social security numbers that really belong to them.

There is no such thing as illegal immigration, or illegal immigrant's. They are not immigrant's, they are law BREAKER'S, trespasser's and criminal's of the country they enter without permission by the government.
Legal immigration, is when a person or person's enter a country with full permission, and knowledge of said country (government), that the alien who enter's, has followed all proper proceder's and rules layed out by said new country. These are USA rules, but it is the same for all countries.

The differnce is that legal immigration is a long and hard process. There are many people from very poor nations here now working to become an American. Illegal immigration spits in the face of those hard workers, they are law breakers and they are doing harm to this country.

Illegal aliens come across the borders without legal permission or legal documents .They are breaking a federal law by doing this.if caught they can be deported and/or sent to jail.
The legal immigrant goes thru all legal channels to become a citizen and doesn't break any laws.

Legal means that the person went thorugh the proper channles and got the proper documentation and were approved for immigration. Illegal means that a person did not apply and just decided they were entitled to come here and do not have the proper documenation to be here.

Following/respecting the laws of the society you are immigrating to is legal.
Disrespecting in a criminal way the laws of the society in to that country you may enter and making your first act in the host country, a contrarian act, putting you at legal (and other) odds with that country and society ...is an act of illegal immigration.

Simple, if you have come through the proper channels to get over here then you're a legal citizen. If you are breaking the law by being over here then you're a illegal citizen. Thus the words "legal" and "illegal".

LEGAL IMMIGRATION DONE BY THE LAWS OF THE LAND. ALL THE IMMIGRANTS THAT COME HERE LEGALLY AND ADHERE TO THE LAWS OF OUR LAND BY GOING THROUGH THE PROCESS OF IMMIGRATION ARE MORE THAN WELCOME.
THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE LAWS OF OUR LAND THEY SNEAK INTO THE COUNTRY BY WALKING ACROSS THE BORDER. NO ONE KNOWS WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE AND CHANCE ARE THEY THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN LEGALLY SO THEY HAVE TO RESORT TO BREAKING OUR LAWS TO ENTER OUR COUNTRY.
THE LEGAL IMMIGRANT STANDS IN LONG LINES AND TAKES A CHANCE AT A NEW LIFE THE PROPER WAY.
THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT JUMPS THE LINE AND DOESN'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT IT.

Legal Immigration: You applied for citizenship and got it. You married a citizen of that country then moved there. Your parent is a citizen and that gives you citizenship.
Illegal Immigration: You snuck over here and still live hear without a visa. Your visa expired and you still live here.

Filling out the papers and such to be here legally. vs Just crossing the border, or overstaying a visa and getting lost in the country somewhere.
