Which are the worst, and which do younger people not think about (until it is too late)? Incurable diseases (HIV/AIDS, HPV, hepetitis, others)? Pregnancy (dropout, no career / future)? Abortion (possibly unable to have children later, emotionally scarring)? Taken advantage of by older partner / physically & emotionally abused? Slutty reputation among peers and family?

I would think getting an incurable STD would be the worst. In many cases that's the gift that keeps on giving no matter what you do. You can always adopt or move to an area where no one knows you to avoid the other issues.

I believe you should be informed at an early age about the dangers of sex and how to prevent problems. I think many teens and even tweens aren't told enough by their parents. I was alway curious and read everything from how pregnancy occurs down to how to put a condom on LONG before I ever had sex.

Every person you have sex with becomes part of the baggage you bring to a relationship that you want to be permanent. Picking up a disease can certainly hamper your goal of eventually being married, having children, etc without it being a reminder of the time you picked up the STD, got pregnant, etc. There is also an emotional bond that occurs more deeply in women than men that can affect future relationships as well. The best thing to do is wait until you've met the one you want to spend the rest of your life with and marry them, then have sex. That's the order to avoid the fears you address and others scoff at.

Depends how its done, some will say YES others NO. Isn't here an 8 year old South American girl soon to be a mother? and the father is her uncle about 34. In medieval times girls were married off at 12, but boys don't get erections or their sperm is effective until later.
As far as all the diseases go etc, if they are clean, and don't have multiple partners, I cannot see any problems, remembr girls mature faster than boys anyway, debateable if hat includes emotional maturity. Overall I would say NO (minimul) from all the evidence I have seen and read over my lifetime.

The emotional consequences are hardly ever discussed.

Those will follow you into every relationship, will harm other relationships, harm the emotional state of your partner...so much more damage than you can add up. There could also be serious regrets and that's an awful feeling.

It'd be nice if this crappy society allowed a more frank and honest discussion about the emotional consequences of sex. All the diseases and pregnancy stuff can easily be avoided with the right precautions. It's the other stuff that'll stay with you...quite possibility forever.

It takes more courage not to have sex than to just to mindlessly go into it.

honestly, i think of intercourse helps shop many relationships going sturdy. It gets uninteresting after a time whilst all you have is the guy's suggestions to get to appreciate and then there are intelligence envy themes. faster or later, possible get jealous of the suggestions ability of the different, or extra than a number of different themes could contemporary themselves. as nicely that, with out intercourse, there could be no toddlers (if each thing else remained comparable to that's now) and with out young toddlers interior the international, no longer in basic terms could the human race die out, yet assorted human beings could omit out on understanding what a excitement young toddlers are and what true love is, which skill that they had have a harder time loving an significant different or significant different extra desirable than themselves, or what it skill to value somebody extra desirable than your self. Now, if young toddlers nevertheless got here alongside with out intercourse, then according to probability some relationships could be stored. No cheating. No intercourse pressures, etc., however the spice of existence could additionally be long gone and who'd desire that? My opinion. And your question would desire to be considered by using some as a sprint strange, yet hiya, i'm no longer indignant. In concept, it bears attention. BTW, how approximately using the spell verify slightly. even nevertheless that's a minor factor, it is extra handy to take somebody heavily if their words are spelled properly. in basic terms a tenet, no longer a criticism. playstation : are not getting me incorrect bearing directly to the intercourse factor. intercourse isn't the main needed component of the relationship, regardless of the undeniable fact that it does have an significant place even nevertheless.

Surely you'd want to avoid all Sexually Transmitted Infections? Well, anyway, there's no permanent damage *per se*, but promiscuity leads to a poor reputation, teenage pregnancy of you or your partner means a big problem and lands you in severe trouble...
STIs could kill you, render you impotent/frigid, make your genitals really disgusting to look at and off putting, make your whole life dependent on taking pills... The list goes on. Always wear a condom, but the best advice is to abstain until you're of age and in a loving relationship - if your religion/morals require it then it's probably best to wait until you're married. By the way, Genital HPV has no effect on men, but in women it dramitically increases their chances of developing Cervical Cancer.

I think you're neurotic.

Sex is a natural appetite like any other. No need to get morbid about it. Sure, there are risks, but there's no reason any sane, responsible person can't minimize those risks. People with obsessions like those you've espoused in your question here will get nowhere but lunatic asylums and churches.

Most of the responses you're getting are mere lingering puritanism. The fact of disease in particular is constantly being bandied about by "morals and values" types to justify their fear of their own (and thus everybody else's) sexuality. But it's exactly like saying we should all stop eating because some people have gotten food poisoning.

I definitly believe that all of those that you listed are not thought about by the younger generation 14-20 yrs of age. They figure it will never happen to them, or they figure they are ready for these adult issues and chices. Sex isn't about fun it is about sharing intimacy with someone you have a long term relationship with.

Everything you just listed . young people have sex regardless of the consequences because they are not to mature to think out their actions. They are in it just for the pleasure. It's good if used at the right time for the right reasons.

If you use a condom you can prevent almost all those things listed. Sometimes an older partner can be fun, they can teach you things, and as for the rep....who cares, it's your life and you only get one. Just be safe and careful and have fun.
