How would you feel if your step childs mom has told the child that you (step parent)have no say so in the childs life. Which basically tells the child you are noone to him or her. How can this be handled. If step parent and mother do not get along.

Being a stepparent is the hardest job you will ever do. But it is not your job to raise those children. You need to make it clear to them that you don't intend on being their mother but whenever they are around you or in your home, they will show you respect, do their assigned chores, and follow the house rules. If they do something that calls for discipline while in your home, you and your husband should discuss it (away from them) and after you agree on the proper discipline, your husband should impose it. Let them know you are there for them if they want to talk about anything, but unless you are asked, don't volunteer advice or criticism. They have a mother and a father and don't need another. Believe me, it will save your sanity and your marriage if you play by these rules.

well darling this is very hard, but the best way of handling this out is ....U better start doing things that will make u have the rights to tell ur step son that its not true...
The worst thing u can do is try to gain his love trough gifts... try to make ur self responsable of few things that u can handle and let your step son u do does things because u love him...
Remember Responsabilities = Rights!!! Believe me this will work.

the father needs to step up and take control of the situation. you are not intending to become the childs mother, but you are there to make sure that the child is safe and that actions are done in his/her best interest. therefore he/she needs to listen to you and mind you. the father needs to talk to the mother, and the three of you need to sit down and work it out for the childs sake. good luck
