I like to drink milk, milkshakes, and eat ice cream and all the like. But about 1/2 hour to an hour or so afterward, my stomach gets all "growly" and i experience i guess you could say a stomach ache almost. i mean it's not like intensely painful, it's just really annoying. Also I get really gassy after drinking milk and other dairy products.

Does this mean I'm lactose-intolerant? If not, then just what the hell is wrong here? Is there a way i can relieve this stomach crap?

Yes, you and many other people (myself included) are lactose intolerant. We lack the enzyme that helps break down lactose. Stomach and intestinal cramping and flatulence (farting) are classical signs of lactose intolerance. There is an over the counter medication you can by at your local drug store or grocery store called LACTAID. It has the enzyme that breaks down lactose. You may still be a little gassy, but the cramps will decrease or completly disappear. Hope this helps.

Yes, you are definately lactose intolerant! It's not going to go away, and it only gets worse as you age. Most adults cannot tolerate lactose- it's for babies!
