There is no good test to see if it is bogus. That is what faith is for.
Many people are following the wrong religion, but they won't know until the judgment.

You don't know and there is no way to tell. Follow logic to get to the answer, not some fantasy tale of supernatural events believed by people who did not know how to think for themselves.
If you think any religion is logical, then by all means believe it. But if TO YOU, a religion seems bogus, then stick with your opinion and follow your own path. Truth is up to one's own interpretation in this regard.

You may never know. If you die and go to heaven you will know whatever religion that heaven corresponds with is the right religion but if you die and there's nothing after death then you will never know. There's no test you could preform that would prove what religion is right. At least that i can think of. I don't believe in religion but if i were you i would just believe in whatever you feel most comfortable with.

None of the religions are "TRUE". I think they can be used as tools for thought and contemplation. But I think just like EVERYTHING, the truth lies in a blending of many things. But not ending there. With the blending of all thought and all concepts we have to be willing to adapt and adopt NEW concepts and trust that we too may be divinely inspired.

of course the good answer would be to "trust and have faith" but if you really want to know, you can always find the truth by digging up evidence to support you religion. In Christianity, there is a lot of uncoincidental proof to show that Jesus exsisted and is the savior.

Hey, that's a good question! I think for anyone wanting to figure it out - you can't just take a "blind leap of faith" - you have to first have a logical understanding/deduction that what you believe in is true, and what it tells you to do makes sense. Anything else after that (like things you can't see - heaven/hell) are after that.
Check this out (pdf: http://www.mangroved.com/sharky/v2.pdf) - it goes through many logical deductions - maybe you can go through similar ones for your religion :) Cheers!

My religion is right for me-----that is what matters. I changed from Christianity and became a Jew. It is a fabulous commitment with my G-d, my people, and our history, moving forward to make the world a better place for all.

I don't think you're suppose to test your religion. I think it's that whole "blind faith" thing. I don't think you are supposed to question your religion, some would say that you don't really have religion if you question it. I say question it all you want, but I doubt you'll get the answers you want.

Is there any authority other than Jesus that has the power to save you? Are they the only church that has the authority to act in the name of Christ? Are there ANY works you must preform other than to believe in Jesus? These are flags that might tell you if you are a member of a cult... Jim

My advise is to read the bible. The bible will tell you everything. If your religion believes in God, the father, God, the son and God the Holy Spirit then you know it's true.
