The plug for my tree is behind the tree and hard to access. Has anyone ever seen something that you can plug in and use a remote or somehing to turn the power on and off???

buy "the clapper" Just "clap on" and "clap-off" to turn on and of the power to your lights. It is only about $10 and can be bought at Walgreens, Walmart, anyplace like that.

Yes.
Check with your appliance store (Home Depot or Lowe's).
They have these simple rocker-switches that connect between extension cords and the light cord.
