Thoughtful and inexpensive?? That's a very good question - if he has a desk at home or in his office a small clock is a nice gift. He will think of you often as time passes. No desk? How about a book of a favorite hobby or movie series - James Bond, Corvettes--you can find these on the bargain tables at most bookstores. Look on auction sites for a Life magazine from the week he was born or the week of a historical event he is interested in - Kennedy assasination, the end of the Vietnam war... Good luck

find out what kinds of things he likes, and then buy him a gift certificate to a store that carries the item. speaking as a man, i can tell you that we are far more likely to shop if someone gives us a gift cert. than if its just up to us to do it on our own. i got a 50 dollar gift certificate to home depot and bought myself a power tool that i never would have otherwise.
