It seems to suggest that to find happiness, you need to be satisfied with a few simple pleasures and not material possessions.

happiness cannot be gained through acquiring material things like cars, money, jewelry, that you think will make you happy. Instead, if you limit your desires, you'll be able to appreciate life for what it is, and therefore will be happier

This sounds Buddhist. Meaning do not try to buy happiness but want less from the world.

I think it is suggesting that people get back to the simpler things in life, trying to find happiness in what we already have. When you think about it, most of us are pretty fortunate in our lives; there are always positives that we can find about ourselves and our lives. But in always wanting more, we forget about what we already have. In focusing on what we don't have, we become unhappy, because we are wanting. So find the good in what you have already!

Rather than trying to get more things to make you happy, you will be happier if you adjust your attitude to want fewer things. Wanting less is more attainable than getting more.
