NO! I'm totally pale too but when I see the other girls I grew up with who tanned, they look 10 years older than me! Pale is beautiful. All of the models these days are super pale!

Some people say that when you are tan you LOOK healthier but actually the opposite is true. Sun rays and tanning bed rays contain UVA and UVB radiation which causes damage to your skin and is a direct cause of skin cancer. If you want to acheive a darker skin color for the healthy glow a tan can give you, opt for one of the spray on tans that you can buy at the drug store (neutragena makes a good one), a department store (clarins sells a nice one) or at a tanning salon that offers the airbrushing by hand or the spray on booths.

I have really pale skin also but got used to it. A tan is not healthier because that requires you to lay in the sun or go to a tanning salon, both of which are very bad.

I have really pale skin too, but I am healthy. That is just the way I am. Pale skin doesn't mean you aren't as healthy as someone who is tan. Drinking a lot of water will help make your skin not so pale.

What makes the diffrence whether you have Pale,Dark or Tan as well as Brown or a White skin. It's depends on how well you are shaped! Eyes-Lips-Height-weight and breast all these factors are base of Healthiness.Well if you have a pale skin - you may do massage a virgin olive oil everyday if you feel so.

Tanning is actually bad for you-unless you do the self-tanners like the lotions etc. But if you go to a salon or the beach the UV rays are bad for your skin and could cause skin cancer etc. It's okay to tan sometimes but too much could damaged your skin.

hunny i feel your pain...im pale too...and have freckles! but when i step back...pale isnt so bad...in fact more people around me are pale rather than tan...and to be honest...ive learned to accept the way God made me and live with it...being pale in my opinion is far better than getting skin cancer and dying early. but if youre determined...try tanning lotion (sunless) but be sure you apply it VERY evenly and precisely...its not something you can rush through. go easy around your knees, ankles, elbows, or any other joints. i would suggest (from personal experience) to apply it thinly everyday. my mistake was getting to impatient and putting alot on everyday. this is a no no...be patient and most tans will develop within a week...i used vaseline sunless tanning, but ive heard that jergen's is good too.

hope this helped!

ignore those other answers. I am 22, tan, i go to the beach for a week (at least) and come back gorgeous, my hair stays great, my skin is smooth because i body surf and sand rubs my face, i have NO wrinkles, smooth non- oily, skin, and my doc says that their is no skin cancer in my body, AND i have only been burnt 4 times because i forgot sunsreen. Mind u that being pale you have to ease into it, take walks in the sun 3 time a week for starters then continue on

I desire I never have been given into tanning, it wrecked my pores and skin and for this reason i've got had 2 cancerous moles bumped off. on the time I felt grotesque and fat and concept a tan could make me seem prettier and thinner....i replace right into a youthful naive teenager and now as a 26 year previous female i'm heavily paying the cost.

A little sun each day is healthy, but us pale skinned types can't stay out too long. You'll just end up with moles and wrinkles. Your skin will look better smooth and unblemished, even if it's light in color.
