James 4:11 says "Brothers do not slander one another," and James 4:12 continues: "But you - who are you to judge your neighbor?"

Reminds me of how the Christians out there who dare to judge the rest of us obviously don't know their own gospel very well. How can you judge others when your scripture so clearly states that you should not? What is your justification?

As a Christian I would like to answer your question by saying...

There is not justification. God alone is judge... as well as Savior

You just can't judge a person by the category they fall under. Each interpersonal relationship makes a difference, wouldn't you think?

And even though I've been called ignorant, despicable, stupid, and a few other negative things today by some folks here on Yahoo Answers (gosh, could that be considered 'being slandered'), I want you to know that I love you all.

By the way, I don't think I've ever met any of the folks who have said those negative things about me and other Christians. I wonder how it is they stamp those labels on my head without ever having met me. You really ought to get to know me more before you call me those things. You know... I'm feeling rather JUDGED right now, and not by any Christians. :) That's ok though, because Jesus told me not to take up any offenses.

your right. Christians are not to judge others, but if one judges another about reading the bible more often and knowing their verses, is it really judging?

perhaps we should think of it as advice to benefit others. and if one were a Christian, he would not see this as judging but take the comment graciously and see the other as a friend just trying to help him grow in spiritual growth.

hopes this helps.

You are absolutely right. Christians are not suppose to judge others, especially non-christians in a condemning way. However, we are to discern spiritual matters, in order to make to make right decisions or even to know what and who to pray for. But no, never judge. The Bible tells us we will be judged by the measure we judge others.ay it is wise to not judge others. Besides, it never helps the situation.

The Ten Commandments are pretty clear that we are TO judge the actions of oneself and those of others.

What we are not to judge is the heart of others. Only God knows the entire reason why a person acts sinfully. He alone judges, yet that does not mean that there are absolutely no sinful actions. This is twisting and turning to the point of convulsion to allow sin. The bible is pretty clear on sinful actions to avoid.

4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
4:12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

Next time quote the whole scripture..

When I say that those who have not accepted Jesus as their savior shall suffer eternal damnation I am not judging you, I am stating a fact.
